Gamers and critics all over the world have been in awe of Elden Ring ever since it was released. Owing to its compelling content, brutal fights, and hauntingly beautiful visuals, the Soulsborne title still finds a place in the top 10 of Steam’s top seller list and had sold over 13.4 million copies as of March 31.
Most enthusiasts are already convinced that no project comes close to Elden Ring this year and that the action RPG should easily clinch the game of the year award. But despite the comfortable position the prized game finds itself in, FromSoftware is showing no signs of slowing down.
Taking to Twitter, Elden Ring’s official account thanked fans for supporting the game since its launch and confirmed that the developer is “working on further improvements for updates going forward.”
Unfortunately, the tweet did not clarify the nature of updates that will make their way to Elden Ring. If the past is any indication, we have seen a slew of key patches balancing weapons, summons, bosses, and more while others tried to do their bit by getting rid of bugs and adding crucial quality of life improvements to the title.
Therefore, there is a good chance that the upcoming updates will also focus on refining the game by fixing bugs, nerfing or buffing foes or items, and so on. If players are lucky, we can even see Elden Ring receiving a DLC or story expansion.
While FromSoftware is yet to confirm any post-launch content for Elden Ring, it’s likely to roll out soon. The game has amassed a huge player base, and it’d be foolish not to capitalize on it by walking away.
Most of the previous Soulsborne games by FormSoftware have received DLCs in the past, and we are of the opinion that Elden Ring will follow the same trail. As for what the expected DLC will entail, only time will tell. All we can do, for now, is be ecstatic for the support that the dev is providing to this highly-acclaimed game.
