Surprising Radiohead Reference Found in Resident Evil Village

With Resident Evil 7 just a couple of days before launch, fans have been having a field day with the demo. One even managed to get Barney the Dinosaur into the game! Using another exploit, one hardcore fan has found an Easter egg that references a Radiohead song. It has been hidden away in an obscure spot within the game’s demo.

Fans have been trying to get the most out of the demo, which has been released for players. Capcom has also been going hard with its marketing campaign, utilizing the new character Lady Dimitrescu, the giant lady vampire who appears to be the main antagonist in this game.

They have also been releasing a steady stream of teasers through dedicated online showcases and limited-time demos. So, it’s not a surprise that fans have been trying to find ways to extend their playtime, even if it means playing the same demo over and over.

Over on the Resident Evil subreddit, a user named Harry101UK shared their discovery of the Radiohead Easter egg, which they found while playing the Resident Evil Village demo on PC. Posting the screenshot, they stated that the lyrics to the rock band’s song “Creep” was written on a dirty plastic bottle, next to other typical items one may find in the game.

This being such a tiny detail placed in a comparatively massive space means not many players must have found this Easter egg, especially when playing without any modifications, allowing them to reset the demo’s built-in one-hour time limit.

Harry101UK also shared the exact location of the bottle, stating that it could be found within the truck garage at the end of the demo. They also said that looking at things up close is “pretty bad,” despite having all the visual specs maxed out and ray-tracing enabled. This makes it even more interesting that they could make out such a tiny detail within the demo.

We’re likely to hear of more such discoveries as fans gear up for the game’s full release. We’re hopeful that the game lives up to the expectations it has raised for everyone and surpasses even the rave reviews Resident Evil 7 received.
