Rocket League’s Season 2, which was due to end soon, has now been handed a one week extension and will now end on April 7th. This leaves players with just a little under a month to take full advantage of the music-themed season and compete in seasonal events to win the Competitive Rewards. Game developers Psyonix also detailed these very Competitive Rewards in their announcement on the game’s website.
New Boosts are slated to be the prime competitive rewards for Season 2. The earning mechanism behind Competitive Rewards is fairly simple: players must complete their placement matches to receive a Rank, and then fulfill the appropriate Season Reward Level (10 wins for each Rank beginning with Bronze).
Just like Season 1, Season 2 will feature a different Reward for each Rank, including the Supersonic Legend rank. Titles will also be distributed for those who won Competitive Tournaments, or have earned Grand Champion and Supersonic Legend ranks in standard or Extra modes.
Here’s the full breakdown of the new Rewards as included in the announcement:
- Bronze I or higher – Bronze Boost
- Silver I or higher – Silver Boost + lower Boost
- Gold I or higher – Gold Boost + lower Boosts
- Platinum I or higher – Platinum Boost + lower Boosts
- Diamond I or higher – Diamond Boost + lower Boosts
- Champion I or higher – Champion Boost + lower Boosts
- Grand Champion I – Grand Champion Boost + lower Boosts
- Supersonic Legend – Supersonic Legend Boost + lower Boosts
Neither the reason for the extension nor any details about Season 3 were disclosed in this not so exciting update. But we can hazard a guess that an extended chance to earn more rewards will keep Rocket League fans happy for a while.
