Rockstar Says Final Goodbyes to GTA 5 and GTA Online, Shifts Focus on GTA 6

Grand Theft Auto V has been and still is one of the best open-world games out there. Celebrating the 9-year anniversary of the game on September 17th, Rockstar will undoubtedly be proud of the blockbuster this game has been, inspiring three generations of consoles from PS3 and Xbox 360 to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

GTA 5 is currently the second-best-selling video game of all time, just behind Minecraft. Together with GTA Online, the game has certainly deserved that spot after tremendous support from the developers since its launch. But as the next installment in the series approaches, I guess it’s time to move on.

Rockstar Games has published a “Thank You” message on its website tributed to everyone who has been involved in the game, which feels like a send-off to the games that have touched millions of hearts worldwide.

It seems as if Rockstar is finally leaving GTA 5 and GTA Online to focus its developing team more on GTA 6. Now, Rockstar hasn’t officially announced GTA 6 yet, but there certainly have been many rumors this year. Moreover, Rockstar also teased the development of GTA 6 back in February this year.

Reportedly based in Miami, the next installment in the series is also set to feature a female protagonist for the first time in the series. We still don’t know how much progress GTA 6 has made behind closed doors, but we shouldn’t expect the game to be out until a couple more years.
