Elden Ring and Battlefield 2042 Amongst the Most Viewed E3 Trailers

E3 2021 is finally over, and it has left us with a lot to anticipate. Even though Sony didn’t make an appearance, given that they prefer to showcase their news through the State of Play, we got a look at many eagerly awaited titles. And now, we can get down to which ones are the most anticipated through the metric which rules over everything – views.

Benji-Sales, a video game analyst, shared a list of the most viewed E3 and Summer Game Fest trailers on Youtube. He says he only looked at raw trailer uploads and compiled ones with a minimum of 100K views for approximate results. The analyst also waited 48 hours for the trailer to gain traction and build views before counting.

According to the calculations he posted on Twitter, FromSoftware’s Elden Ring ranked the highest with over 10.2 million views. Given that Elden Ring had been first teased two years ago and the loyal fanbase FromSoftware has cultivated through the Souls series, Bloodborne and Sekiro, it’s no surprise that the gameplay reveal trailer got this kind of reception. Not to mention that people re-watched the trailer several times.

ELDEN RING - Official Gameplay Reveal

We have DICE, and EA’s Battlefield 2042 gameplay reveal with over 9.6 million views in second place. Technically speaking, Battlefield 2042 beat out Elden Ring as the official reveal trailer got over 15 million views on the Battlefield channel. But, it was shown before the start of E3 and Summer Game Fest while the gameplay was revealed as part of the Xbox showcase.

And the final of the Top 3 is Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, with more than 7.7 million views. It looks like people are still enthralled by James Cameron’s alien world, even though it hasn’t been given any attention for over a decade now. With a release close to the release date of the next Avatar movie, it’s going to be a big splash in the gaming scene.

Other honorable mentions include Starfield (7.1 million), Untitled The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Sequel (6.4 million), Stalker 2: Heart of Chernobyl (4.8 million), Riders Republic (4.6 million), and Forza Horizon 5 (4.2 million).

These ranking can still change, as views may go up and down as we get closer to release dates and more people dissect trailers to find hidden secrets.
