While Eivor is in yet another turmoil with the kings of Ireland, there is a certain mission in which Eivor’s decision can save a character’s life in AC Valhalla. This character in question is Ciara, a druid advisor. Ciara is one of the new characters Eivor can interact with in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s new Wrath of the Druids DLC update.
In last main story mission of the Wrath of the Druids DLC called “The Cost of Betrayal”, Eivor has to decide between saving or killing Ciara for the greater goods. If you’re looking for the perfect option to choose, or want to know about the choices and their consequences, then all you’ve got to do is follow along.
1. The Cost of Betrayal Mission in AC Valhalla
The Cost of Betrayal is the final main story mission of the Wrath of the Druids DLC in AC Valhalla. In the quest, players need to make their way to Flann in Durrow and confront Ciara. After a few more dialogues and confrontations, Ciara will be possessed by the druid stone and appear in front of Eivor for a final boss battle.
Defeating Ciara, players can either put her out of her misery as she requested or save her life in a certain dialogue choice. After the choice, the consequences will follow suit and the main story arc of the Wrath of the Druids will come to an end.
If you’re also scratching your brains out wondering which the best option for this scenario is, then don’t worry! I’ve got you covered.
2. All Ciara Choices
I. Choosing “An Honorable Death” Option
Choosing “An Honorable Death”, Eivor will take Ciara’s life without any regrets as requested by the woman herself.
Consequences: Flann will destroy the stone himself and inform Eivor that the inquisition has been stopped. This will prompt Eivor to remark that Ciara would have been happy knowing that the corrupt inquisition was stopped once and for all.
II. Choosing “I Can’t Kill You” Option
Choosing “I Can’t Kill You”, Eivor will refuse to kill Ciara as she requested and convince her to stop the stone’s powers herself.
Consequences: Convinced by Eivor’s words, Ciara will destroy the monolith stone herself and stop the Druids powers from ever controlling her again. Flann will also apologize to Ciara for confronting her and inform that the corrupt inquisition has been stopped. Ciara will eventually leave Flann’s court and settle elsewhere.
Now, I’m sure you will decide on the best option to choose from based on the consequences. But, if you still need more convincing, here’s my take on the whole situation.
3. Should You Kill or Save Ciara in AC Valhalla?
The best option to choose in the “The Cost of Betrayal” mission is the “I Can’t Kill You” option. Choosing it will not only save Ciara’s life but also have the same outcome as the other one i.e., the monolith being destroyed and the inquisition being stopped.
Ciara is a poetess and has strong connections with the Druids who have taken advantage of her powers. Seeing Eivor confront her, she requested Eivor to finish her off so that no other person can take advantage of her Druid powers and use them for evildoings.
But if you ask me, I would rather save Ciara than kill her off in the game. She has not only confessed her sins but you cannot also dismiss the fact that she was possessed by evil spirits controlling her body for crimes. So, the poor thing must have suffered enough to ask for a quick death.
Also the fact that Ciara is a potential love interest for Eivor can also be an additional factor for you to not kill the woman.
4. How to Romance Ciara in AC Valhalla?
In order to romance Ciara, players need to choose the correct dialogue options to make her believe that Eivor is interested. The first dialogue you have to choose is the “I’d like to get to know you better” and later on, the “I would like to be close to you” to show her Eivor’s true feelings.
Once you’ve successfully conversed with her, she will also show her feelings and fall for Eivor. So, go on and enjoy a blissful romance with Ciara and try to save her life while you’re reaching the predicament.
