Sony Reveals Limited Edition God of War Ragnarok PS5 Controller & A New Story Trailer

Sony’s PlayStation ‘State of Play’ event was held yesterday, with much of the focus on Japanese Developers. There were indications that even God of War Ragnarok might make an appearance at the event, as fans were reading between the lines as many prominent names surrounding the game had retweeted the announcement tweet.

Unsurprising for these fans, but surprising to most others, God of War Ragnarok did feature at the event. The game is expected to be one of the biggest games of 2022 as it’s the successor to one of the most well-regarded games of the last decade.

Sony has revealed a brand new Limited Edition God of War Ragnarok PS5 Dualsense controller. Themed after the upcoming game, the controller features an icy blue and white color scheme.

There are also two wolves in the center, possibly referring to the father-son duo in God of War. The color scheme fits the Norse adventures of Kratos and Atreus quite well. The ‘limited edition’ in the name suggests that you should get your hands on one as soon as possible before time runs out.

Pre-orders for the controller begin on September 27th, and it will release on the same day as God of War Ragnarok, November 29th. Pricing details haven’t been announced, but colored controllers cost about $74.99, so it will likely cost the same or a tad bit more since it’s custom.

Moreover, the controller announcement was followed by a new Story Trailer for God of War Ragnarok. The story of Kratos and Atreus continues as they encounter Ragnarok, the apocalyptic event.

The trailer shows very little actual gameplay but focuses much more on the game’s cinematics and story. We see Fenrir, a mysterious figure likely to be Odin, some fight sequences, and even the Norse world that the game takes us through before the trailer ends with a toe to toe fight between Kratos and Thor.

Overall, this is just minutes of gameplay, and we expect Sony to release much more this month as it has now started hyping up the game after keeping much of it a secret. God of War Ragnarok arrives on November 9th for PS5 and PS4.

About God of War Ragnarok

God of War Ragnarok is an action-adventure game developed by Santa Monica Studio and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment. It was released on November 9, 2022, for PS4 and PS5.

Ragnarok is the ninth installment in the God of War series, chronologically, and the sequel to 2018’s God of War. Loosely based on Norse mythology, the game is set in ancient Norway and features series protagonists Kratos and his young son Atreus. The events of the game are expected to initiate Ragnarok – a series of events that, according to Norse lore, bring about the end of days and the death of the Norse gods.
