Sony’s Dualsense Edge controller was first revealed at Gamescom Opening Night Live. The Dualsense Edge controller announcement showcased a very customizable Dualsense controller. Sony didn’t initially reveal its release date or price or any other information. But they’ve finally revealed more information on the controller.
Sony has revealed that the Dualsense Edge controller will be released globally on January 26th, 2023. Sony confirmed that the wireless controller will cost $199.99 USD. Sony has also given a rundown of the controller’s features through a blog post and a trailer.
The biggest feature of the Dualsense Edge controller are the “Ultra Customizable Controls” including changeable Stick Caps, replaceable stick modules, and back buttons. The controller also has customizable button mappings, adjustable trigger stops and dead zones through a slider on the back, with the ability to tune the sensitivity and dead zones of the controller. Players can also save multiple control profiles which will allow them to save adjustments between different games or users.
Sony is also making the replaceable stick modules available for purchase separate from the controller. The replaceable stick modules will be available for $19.99 USD. Pre-orders for the controller open next week on Tuesday, October 25th in the US, UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg and it can be purchased through the PlayStation Direct website.
