Nvidia Reveals RTX 3090 Ti Specs; Price & Release Date remain Untold

After months of hearsay and leaks, the wait is finally over. Nvidia has officially unveiled its “monster” GeForce RTX 3090 Ti flagship GPU during its special address at CES 2022. While the entry-level GPUs were the center of attention for most of the event, Nvidia deliberately saved the best for last and got fans off their seats by teasing the “next BFGPU.” (BFGPU = Big Ferocious GPU)

With the green team not going into details, we do not have benchmark data to determine how this flagship card will perform. All that Nvidia has confirmed so far is that the RTX 3090 Ti will offer a memory clock boost of 7.7%, 40 shader TFLOPS, 78 ray tracing TFLOPS, and 320 tensor TFLOPS.

You see, as of now, the vanilla GeForce RTX 3090 was proclaimed to be one of the most powerful consumer GPUs out there. But regardless of its capabilities, the RTX 3090 Ti is all set to take over its stature and reach newer heights with such stupendous specs.

Plus, I’m not just saying this.

When both cards go head-to-head against each other, the numbers suggest that the RTX 3090 Ti comes out on top by being 10% faster than the vanilla RTX 3090. Indeed, this makes it a dream come true for every VR and 4k gaming enthusiast.

Moreover, just like the RTX 3090 Founders Edition, Nvidia’s toned-up RTX 3090 Ti will also utilize an Ampere card. Rumors also suggest that the card will house the 8nm GA102 chip with 10752 CUDA cores and flaunt a gigantic 24GB of GDDR6X memory operating at 21Gbps.

Now coming to its design, the RTX 3090 Ti will look similar to its predecessor on the exterior as it sports a triple-slot design and identical styling as well.

Besides everything we discussed, further details of the 3090 Ti like pricing, release date, game benchmarks are yet to be divulged. So, stay tuned as Nvidia is set to update us with more information in the coming weeks.

While GeForce RTX 3090 Ti was the biggest takeaway from the presentation, Nvidia also shed light on other GPU additions by revealing the RTX 3050, RTX 3080 Ti, and RTX 3070 Ti.

Starting with the RTX 3050, it’s a 50-class GPU that assures ray tracing at over 60 FPS, relies on the Ampere architecture, and comes with 8GB of GDDR6 memory. The GPU is expected to fill the gap that the GTX 1050 and 1650 series of cards found refuge in previously.

The graphic card will hit the shelves on January 27, and its pricing starts at $249 / £239.

Coming to the laptop arena, Nvidia also revealed two high-end notebook graphic options in the RTX 3080 Ti and 3070 Ti. The former is claimed to supersede the desktop Titan RTX in terms of performance.

The cheaper 3070 Ti, on the other hand, will beat the RTX 2070 Super laptops by being 70% faster. Nvidia even went on to claim that the card will offer “100 FPS ultra” at 1440p.

The RTX 3080 Ti will be found in laptops that roll out on February 1 and start with a hefty price tag of $2,499.

In addition, the RTX 3070 Ti laptops will launch on February 1, too but will be significantly cheaper as their pricing starts at $1,499.
