Bethesda’s upcoming sci-fi RPG Starfield has been steadily gaining a decent amount of hype, but no release date had yet been given. It was initially announced at E3 2018, and fans didn’t get much information about it aside from the occasional leak.
But, at this year’s E3, Bethesda has finally given fans what they’ve been asking for, an extended look at Starfield through a stunning in-game trailer which also had a release date included, and it has been confirmed to be an Xbox exclusive as well.
The trailer lasts for just a little over 2 minutes and is the most fans have seen from the game so far. The trailer itself doesn’t give that many in-game details, but it gives fans a better idea of what they can expect from the finished product, along with the kind of tone Bethesda is aiming for with this game.
In the trailer, we see an astronaut going through the various launch procedures while a narrator describes the vastness of space. Players will be a member of “Constellation,” which was described in the trailer as “our family.”
Robots could be seen walking around on the surface of what could have been a planet, and the game is going to be set during the early ages of humanity’s far-reaching exploration of space. The trailer ends by showing that November 11, 2022, is the release date, which would also mark the 11th anniversary of Skyrim’s launch.
Rumors had been floating around that we would get to see Starfield at E3 this year, and we’re glad Bethesda didn’t disappoint. We were also given a release window for the game, as Jason Schreier stated that the plan was for the game to launch in 2022. While things can still get shuffled around, it’s good that fans have a solid release date to look forward to.
Fans can now expect more information periodically from Bethesda, especially when we get closer to the release date. Starfield is one of the most anticipated games from Bethesda, mainly due to how long it’s been since the studio released an original IP.
