Ever since 2021, when Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection was first announced for PC, fans have been waiting with bated breath for the title to hit the shelves. While it has been confirmed that the game will roll out this year only, a specific release date is yet to be revealed, though it has been leaked a plethora of times.
Back in April, a news post published on Epic Games Store claimed that Uncharted: Legacy Of Thieves Collection’s PC port would be released on June 20. To see a source as credible as Epic have a say on the matter at hand, enthusiasts were convinced that the long-awaited title would see the light of the day soon.
Unfortunately, that didn’t turn out to be the case as we’re approaching June end and Uncharted still seems to be miles away from us. Just like this leak by Epic, many rumored dates have come and disappointed fans as they have gone, but now a new edit to a popular listing has reawakened fans’ hope of getting an official launch date for Uncharted soon.
A recent update to the Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection page on SteamDB states that the title will now release on October 19. It has to be kept in mind that this is not the official release date for the collection and can be changed in the future.
The Steam profile previously had July 15 listed as the release date for Uncharted, and this has got many gamers speculating if something odd is happening behind the scenes. With the title pushed all the way to October, it is believed that the port must have faced a delay.
Instead of Naughty Dog or Sony’s in-house Nixxes Software, Iron Galaxy has been entrusted with the responsibility to develop Uncharted for PC. While the company is known to do a fine job, its track record isn’t perfect either, so the possibility of a postponement cannot be ruled out.
But again, given that Sony never publicly confirmed any release date, there is no way to know whether the port actually encountered an issue or if it was just pushed back as a scheduling thing.
As fans, all we can do is wait for a State of Play or a similar event between now and October to get more information about the upcoming title.
