System Shock Remake Pushed Back to March 2023 

It seems like the System Shock Remake, which was originally said to release this year, has been most likely delayed until 2023. 

The release date for the System Shock Remake has been pushed back to March 2023. The recently updated Steam store page for the System Shock Remake lists the current release date as March 2023. Nightdive Studios, the developers behind the remake, is yet to comment on the delay.  

However, the developers did retweet Wario64’s announcement of the updated Steam store page for the remake.  

The original System Shock was released in 1994 and received critical praise from critics and fans alike. The success of the game led to a sequel being developed, which was released five years later and became widely popular.  

While the series was widely popular, plans for a System Shock 3 fell through and the System Shock series was put to rest until 2016. A System Shock Remake was announced in 2016 and the game has been in development since with the remake being expected to release this year.  

Nightdive Studios reported that the development for the System Shock Remake was nearly finished way back in April. However, this certainly wasn’t the case as the game being delayed indicates that the game is still being worked on. Though, this might be the final delay that the Remake will endure before its release so fans shouldn’t lose hope.  

The most recent look that fans got at the System Shock Remake was a new trailer that was unveiled during Gamescom 2022. 

The trailer gave fans their first look at SHODAN, the primary antagonist of the game along with a look at the rebuilt version of the classic techno-horror title.  

The System Shock Remake will be available on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The remake is being developed using Unreal Engine 4 and will feature updated graphics, updated enemies, and new enemy A.I.

System Shock is an upcoming action-adventure game developed by Nightdive Studios and published by Prime Matter. It is a remake of the 1994 video game of the same name, originally developed by Looking Glass Studios.

The game is has been pushed back to March 2023 and is planned to have a simultaneous release on Microsoft Windows, macOS, Linux, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
