Netflix’s Video Game Service is Currently Under Testing

Subscription services have been thriving in the gaming industry. From Xbox Games Pass and PlayStation Now to the repeated Battle Passes from games such as Warzone, gamers have shown they don’t mind making repeat investments for new content.

The pay-by-month subscription service has been doing well, especially for Xbox’s Game Pass, which also allows you to play the games on the PC and Cloud as well. We had recently reported that Netflix would be dipping its toe into this pool, and now the testing has begun.

The recently announced game streaming service from Netflix is open for select Netflix subscribers who can start to test the feature. Given that Netflix has become a household name over the years, this limited service test run can mean big things for the company.

Netflix announced earlier today that the service would be open for limited Android devices and offered two titles based on the very popular series Stranger Things.

Stranger Things: The Game and Stranger Things 3: The Game are currently both available for Netflix subscribers to test on the platform. The company has stated that this initial testing phase will be limited to Netflix users based in Poland.

They have stated that there will be no ads or in-app purchases featured on their gaming service . The announcement went on to say that the game streaming will be included with the standard Netflix subscription without any additional cost to the players.

They have consistently stated that the service’s offerings are still in their “very, very early days,” but Netflix seems optimistic about the future of games on its platform. We don’t know when this service will be available for other regions, but previous timeframes have placed the gaming service’s release by next year.

The successful additions of games to the streaming service will only help cement its place at the top of the list of entertainment providers. But, for now, those interested will have to wait to see how Netflix’s full-fledged game offerings will operate.
