The Title and Logo of the 2022 Call of Duty Game Has Been Revealed

As each year passes, publisher Activision ignites the flames of curiosity amongst enthusiasts by announcing a new Call of Duty title. Thankfully, 2022 is no different as well because the sequel to the widely successful Modern Warfare 2019, which was announced only recently, has officially received an official logo and a title.

Besides confirming that the 2022 CoD game is titled Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward also unveiled the title’s logo through a post where “M” and “W” of Modern Warfare are woven together to form the roman numerical “II”.

This means that all those reports that said the 2022 Call of Duty title would be packing Roman numerals to separate itself from 2019’s MW2 were accurate after all.

But regardless of its naming pattern, it’s surprising to see CoD: Modern Warfare 2 getting a reveal this early in summer, given how previous entries had to wait for the summer season to end for their official names and other details to become public.

Perhaps, Activision went ahead of its schedule because of the mixed reactions that Vanguard has received, along with how badly the Warzone Pacific Map has faired.

Seeing how CoD is a household name to every gamer on earth, the devs and publishers surely wouldn’t want to put the kibosh on it due to the failure of a few projects.

The franchise has been going through a rough patch for quite some time; therefore, it shouldn’t be surprising at all if the upcoming MW2 gives everyone a peek into its gameplay sooner rather than later.

In addition to this, the return of the awe-inspiring Task Force 141 has also been teased by the devs. The special unit of resilient soldiers won everyone’s heart back in 2009’s MW2, and now there’s a chance that some of these familiar, beloved faces could return to our screens this year.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is in development and is expected to roll out in late 2022.
