Legendary Chests in God of War Ragnarok rewards you with Armors, Enchantments, Weapon Attachments and Runic Attacks. These chests are scattered around all the Nine Realms and provide items of great value.
This guide will help you to find all the three Legendary Chests present in the area of The Barrens inside the realm of Alfheim. You’ll unlock the area after clearing The Tower of Light in Alfheim with Tyr.
Location of the first Legendary Chest in The Barrens
Location: This Legendary Chest is located at the Elf building in the North of the Barrens, to the East of the large Elf gate. You’ll face two Dark Elves and a Dark Elf Lord once you enter the building. After defeating them, head to the outside of the South-West area of the building. The Legendary Chest will be located there, beside a Lore Scroll.
Reward: Wrist Armor – Gauntlets of Radiance
Location of the second Legendary Chest in The Barrens
Location: This Legendary Chest is located inside the giant skeleton in the North-East area of The Barrens. Enter the mouth and then look for a wall you can leap up to, leading you through the skeleton’s mouth. Once you’re in, you’ll have to fight Grims, Cursed Grims, and Wretches. After defeating them, look for the wall you can climb up in the East part of the room. The chest will be located there, beside an Artifact.
Reward: Waist Armor – Belt of Radiance
Location of the third Legendary Chest in The Barrens
Location: This Legendary Chest is located inside a small cave to the South-East of the entrance to The Barrens from The Canyons. You’ll be able to access this area only after completing the ‘Secret of the Sands’ Favor. Move forward to slip between the gaps.
The chest will be blocked by some Nest Vines so you’ll have to break them in order to open it. Look for some Twilight Stone nearby to throw your Axe off of. In order to cut all three Nest Vines, stand next to the Vine closest to the chest. Throw the Axe into the Twilight Stone, then recall it the moment it cuts the second Vine. On the way back, the Axe will cut through the third vine.
Reward: Shield Attachment – Rond of Affliction
Rond of Affliction, when equipped with the shield, causes an elemental explosion when a Status-Afflicted enemy is hit by a Shield Strike (double tapping L1 on your controller).
