The Division 2 Will See a New Game Mode Arrive Later This Year

It’s been a month since the Division 2 devs over at Ubisoft teased their plans for new content for the game. That announcement did not reveal much except for the fact that the updates will be dropping later this year and that Title 12 will not be the final update for the game.

Among other things, Ubisoft has finally outlined what the new content will feature: a game mode “that is entirely new to the franchise”. In their blog post announcement, the company did not reveal much else about the mode but said that it is still in early development.

As for the release date, no exact date was mentioned but the post said that the new update will take several months to complete, and is slated to reach players by late 2021.

In terms of gameplay, Ubisoft outlined that they are investigating new ways to progress player agents with an emphasis on increasing build variety and viability.

As of plans for the next season, Division 2 will rerun previous seasons released during Year 2.

“In other words, the next season (Season 5) will be a rerun of Season 1, giving you the chance to collect rewards and collectibles that you might have missed out on. This also means there will be regular Leagues and Global Events for you to participate in. On top of re-running seasons, we will continue to support the game with new Apparel Events and some minor Title Updates focused on game health.”

The Division 2 Team

The Division 2, while not being as popular as its fellow online RPGs, has garnered significant support from its dedicated fan base; a fact that has often been cited as the reason behind Ubisoft persevering to bring its fans more. Hopefully, this update will work out better for the game than Update 1.21 did. That one was a bit of an unfortunate mess.
