Ubisoft Accidentally Leaks Few Details about The Division: Heartland

Battle Royale games really came into the spotlight a few years ago as the popularity of games like Fortnite and PUBG grew. Many games tried that formula, some failed, while others are still having success to this day, like Apex Legends.

Ubisoft’s The Division series also has plans to dive into the Battle Royale genre with its upcoming The Division: Heartland. The game was announced last year with no trailer or screenshots, just a logo, and confirmation that it is a free-to-play title for consoles and PC. So far, there is very little information on the game.

However, it seems Ubisoft has accidentally leaked a few details about The Divisions: Heartland by putting up its official store page earlier than intended. The Ubisoft store listing also featured in-game images, gameplay details, and a vague release window of ‘soon.’

Well, obviously, the listing was deleted soon after, but Twitter user @Unkown1Z1 was quick to record the store page. The first and the main gameplay mode will be “Storm Operations.”

A special PvPvE operation against an aggressive faction of rogue Division agents, the so-called Vultures. Alongside the Vultures, players will also need to contend with surviving a lethal virus, adding a new twist to the experience.

The second gameplay mode is called “Excursion Operations,” which has you Complete PvE missions, gather gear, activate alerts, and prep the battlefield. Moreover, there will be six playable agents and three classes to choose from for both game modes.

The way it’s worded suggests that agents aren’t locked to a specific class. Instead, you pick an agent and then assign them one of the three classes. We assume that each agent also comes with specific perks that can be combined with the class skills.

Although being a Battle Royale game, these modes suggest that the game will still focus on team-play like classic The Division titles. Moreover, Ubisoft could be planning to highlight The Division Heartland as part of its Ubisoft Forward presentation on September 10th, along with Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
