HBO’s latest show, The Last of Us, is becoming a huge success among fans of the original 2013 title due to its faithful adaptation. Some scenes have been recreated exactly as seen in the game.
Neil Druckmann, the creative director of The Last of Us, revealed that the team was considering a DLC focusing on Ellie’s mom.
The Last of Us show will also feature Ellie’s mother well into the season which is what Druckmann is looking forward to the most.
The Last of Us features a strong storyline with one of the best character developments in video game history. The plot deals with some mature and intense themes. This has been reflected in the HBO adaptation as well.
The series focuses heavily on clickers, which is another name for those who reach the third stage of being infected. This element differentiates the series from other generic apocalyptic releases.
Breaking free from the curse of TV adaptations, The Last of Us received accolades and even has a score of 9.4 on IMDb. Resident Evil came out on Netflix last year but due to it’s poor direction and script the show lasted a season before Capcom stopped live-action adaptations of the Resident Evil series.
Although there have been a few rumors about The Last of Us 3, a solid piece of information is yet to come up. With HBO’s adaptation, the series is picking up a lot of traffic. After the premiere of the first episode, The Last of Us video games sales soared in numbers for both PS4 and PS5.
