Bosses in Elden Ring: Hardest Bosses, Beating Them, The Final Boss & More!

Elden Ring is the latest game from FromSoftware, a company known for developing games with some of the most grueling and legendary boss fights. The action-fantasy RPG is no exception to the rule, as players will have to deal with powerful gods and creatures to move ahead in the game.

But, among the tedious battles, one might think, which is the toughest boss to beat in the game? The game consists of several legendary fights like the Crucible Knight, Godskin Duo, and many more characters that take multiple tries to take down. But, one of them stands out among the fandom.

Elden Ring fans widely consider Malenia, Blade of Miquella, the toughest boss to beat in the game. She can heal herself with every attack she lands, meaning players need to be perfect while trying to take her out.

However, that’s not the only powerful boss in Elden Ring. I’ll rank the strongest bosses players can fight in Elden Ring and answer some common questions regarding boss fights.

5 Toughest Bosses in Elden Ring Ranked

Here are the five toughest bosses in Elden Ring, ranked from worst to best:

5. Starscourge Radahn

Starscourge Radahn

At the beginning of this boss fight, the protagonist needs to cross the battlefield while Starscourge throws giant spears and a rainstorm of arrows at him. Even if players can get close to him, they’ll have to deal with his absurd attack range and lightning speed.

Additionally, if the player manages to make some progress against Radahn, he’ll turn into a meteor, crash near you, and gain more power. It doesn’t matter which builds you use against him/ Radahn will take several turns and immense willpower to take down.

4. Commander Niall

Commander Niall begins the boss fight by summoning two powerful assistants, but he’s more than enough to qualify as one of the most robust bosses in Elden Ring.

The commander features high attack power and one of the sturdiest defenses in the game. But, his untimely attacks deal an absurd amount of lighting and frost damage. This boss will take multiple hours to defeat, making you more prone to mistakes as you reach the endgame.

3. Godskin Duo

Godskin Duo

Duo boss fights are some of the hardest battles in Elden Ring, and the Godsking Duo shows why they can be frustrating. This brawl sees the protagonist face off against two bosses sharing a singular health bar.

However, one will always resurrect the other instantly after the player takes it down. You have to constantly deal with their deadly duo attacks while trying to survive in a small space. Therefore, it’s impossible to get through this fight without using any cheap tactics to overcome it.

2. Beast Clergyman or Maliketh the Black Blade

Maliketh the Black Blade

This boss fight has two segments: the Beast Clergyman and Maliketh the Black Blade. The first part is quite a hill to climb, but the brawl against Maliketh is easily one of the most challenging fights in Elden Ring.

The Black Blade can glide across the battlefield, making it complicated to keep track of him. But, when he lands, his attacks will take out a large portion of your health, if not kill you instantly. However, once you learn his patterns and master the timing, the boss battle becomes possible to win.

1. Malenia, Blade of Miquella

Malenia, Blade of Miquella

The battle against Malenia is widely considered the most difficult boss battle in Elden Ring. Fans have termed Malenia as the most broken enemy in the game.

She boasts incredible speed and quick attacks, making it a struggle to land a hit on her during the first few tries. But, what makes Malenia so frustrating is her ability to heal herself with every blow she lands.

To explain, she gains a significant portion of her health back even if you block her attacks, making it time-consuming to take her down. Several players have taken days to try and take her down, but a vast majority of them have never been able to beat her.

How many bosses does Elden Ring have?

Elden Ring Bosses

Elden Ring has a grand total of 109 unique bosses in-game. However, there are only 12 mandatory boss fights players need to complete the game.

But it becomes nearly impossible to complete the mandatory boss fights if the character is not leveled up and doesn’t have powerful pieces of equipment. Therefore, players should complete side-quests and fight other bosses to make the compulsory brawls easier.

How long does it take to complete Elden Ring?

It takes around 45-60 hours to complete Elden Ring’s main story. However, it can take more than 100 hours to complete all the side-quests and other missions in the game.

But, like most FromSoftware games, players can get stuck on a particular part for hours, which may increase the playtime of your journey in the Lands Between.

Who is the final boss in Elden Ring?

Final Boss Golden Order

Players will have to face Reagon of the Golden Order as the final boss in Elden Ring. He’s known for his powerful AOE attacks that can kill the protagonist instantly.

However, Radagon morphs into the Elden Beast after dealing a certain amount of damage to him. The beast is a giant creature that continuously throws AOE attacks which players have to dodge reactively. Radagon is one of the strongest bosses made by FromSoftware, making him an ideal final hurdle in the game.
