Sega, Square Enix and More Revealed in Tokyo Game Show 2021 Schedule

This year’s schedule for the Tokyo Game Show has finally been revealed, and we have also been teased with some “exclusive news” to be announced by Xbox.

E3 was the last big gaming event, and the game announcement area tends to dry up between July and August. Luckily, Gamescom 2021 ended that drought, and now we have the Tokyo Game Show 2021 to look forward to.

The event will start on September 30th and will run for the entirety of the weekend. We now have the four-day event schedule and also features when the heavy hitters of the event will make an appearance.

Out of all the names, Xbox will be making the biggest presentation during the TGS opening day. Xbox has made it very clear that they are looking to solidify and expand their foothold in the Japanese market with this new generation of consoles.

2021 will mark the second year in a row where Xbox has been a part of TGS, and the company’s listing has promised some “exclusive news.” Last year, they included information about Microsoft Flight Simulator and the Xbox Series X|S in Japan.

In other highlights for TGS, we will be getting presentations from Sega, Square Enix, Konami, and Capcom. If you’re already making entries into your planner, remember that all the timings are listed in Japanese Standard Time. So, make sure you’ve done the correct math and are ready to either wake up super early or go to bed super late, depending on your time zone.

While most of what is shown at TGS is aimed at the Japanese market, there will definitely be some big announcements for everybody. You can also find details on the TGS website on how you can attend the weekend in VR.

You’ll need an Oculus Quest 1 or 2, which you can use to visit virtual booths during the event. So, even if you can’t actually be there in person, you can at least feel like you’re there.
