Elden Ring’s Save Issues on PS5 to be Addressed with Upcoming Patch

We are finally at that time of the year when gamers can access Elden Ring whenever they wish. FromSoftware’s latest title was one of the most anticipated games of the year and is quickly becoming one of the highest-rated games in history. The overwhelming praise Elden Ring has received more than makes up for the waiting period, but bugs still have to be ironed out.

Elden Ring has several key performance issues currently, making it a less than ideal experience for gamers, and no timeline has been given for fixes. Bandai Namco has confirmed that one fix is on the way; it pertains to an issue on PS5s that prevents saves from going through

This confirmation came during an update shared on Friday morning. The publisher stated FromSoftware is busy trying to fix all the issues currently plaguing Elden Ring. The PS5 save bug triggers if players “unexpectedly” turn off their console while playing or if the PS5 is in rest mode. This would result in an improper save and loss of progress.

So, if you are planning on ending a long gaming session, it would be better to manually save your progress rather than relying on auto-save. This minor inconvenience could save you a lot of progress until the patch with the fix is released for the console.

Bandai Namco has also suggested that players ensure they get a proper save by using the in-game menu to “Qui Game” before shutting down their console. Auto-saves are not entirely unreliable, but the lack of consistency due to the bug means this is a guaranteed method to ensure your game is saved.

Unfortunately, we do not have any release window for this patch as of yet; Bandai Namco has simply stated that it is being worked on. Other issues to be addressed include mouse sensitivity on PC and Steam users’ Anti-Cheat failing to launch. Performance too will be worked on, but the publisher has made no promises on that subject.
