Cyberpunk 2077 Has a Dark Harry Potter Easter Egg!

The world of Cyberpunk 2077 holds many easter eggs, including a very well-hidden one referencing the Witcher series. Now, keen-eyed Redditors have found one which alludes to the Harry Potter franchise. And of course, as with everything in Cyberpunk 2077, it too is dark and dystopian.

Reddit user thesailorscout encountered some familiar symbols on the wall of a building when exploring the most remote areas of Night City. The Redditor said that they found this easter egg when they chased an NPC right to the location. The inscription on the wall reads “Platform 693/4” which is obviously a more cheeky reference to the platform from where Harry and other catch the train to Hogwarts.

Additionally, the street art has two skeleton hands which point to a spot under the words “Hit here” with a bloodstain completing the artwork. Looks like even in the future, there are Muggles running headfirst into solid walls trying to get to Hogwarts.

Thesailorscout also said they noticed some very strange NPC activity around the spot. Apparently several NPC would run at the wall for several seconds as if something was attracting them. Some comments on the post suggested running V into the indicated spot, calling him the “Chosen One”. Fans assumed the player would fall through the wall onto the other side of the map. In all fairness, given the state of Cyberpunk 2077 even after updates, we wouldn’t know whether to classify that action as a glitch or intended game mechanic.

Jibes aside, it’s clear that the world of Cyberpunk 2077 has been crafted with a lot of thought and love. Regardless of the glitches and bugs still plaguing the game, the world is definitely something we can all appreciate and it’s clear the creators have no thoughts of giving up on it. CD Projekt Red’s Adam Kicinski recently stated that there is no “option to shelve Cyberpunk 2077”, claiming that the studio will be able to bring the game to a satisfying state and “successfully sell the game for years to come”.

For now, Patch 1.2 has addressed several issues and bugs which can be found in the game, making it much easier to play than before. It isn’t perfect as yet, but Cyberpunk 2077 is slowly but surely getting there.

About Cyberpunk 2077

Cyberpunk 2077 is a 2020 action role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt Red and published by CD Projekt, based on video game designer Mike Pondsmith’s game series.

Set in a dystopian cyberpunk universe, the player assumes the role of “V,” a mercenary in the fictional Californian city known as “Night City,” where they deal with the fallout from a heist gone wrong that results in an experimental cybernetic “bio-chip” containing an engram of the legendary rock star and terrorist Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) threatening to slowly overwrite V’s mind; as the story progresses V and Johnny must work together to find a way to be separated and save V’s life.
