Ubisoft Kills The Transmog Hype by Adding New Feature In Bad Way!

Yikes!

Ubisoft tried to do good for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players by adding a much-requested item transmog feature to the game but unfortunately, didn’t do a very good job with its implementation.

This feature came as a part of Valhalla’s Title Update 1.2.0 that launched across Xbox Series, PS4/5, Stadia, and PC on March 16th. The update added new skills, a close camera option, the Ostara Festival, and a transmogrification feature which allows players to change the appearance of their gear without changing the underlying stats. This gives players a lot of freedom to customize outfits.

Players are always looking to get a bang for their buck with their builds but this almost always compromises in-game fashion. Fans have been requesting this feature for a while but Ubisoft, according to players, failed to add it to the game in the right way.

In Valhalla’s predecessor AC Odyssey, you could transmog your gear for free in the inventory menu. Valhalla, however, needs you to pay 50 Silver per transmogrification, which you’ll have to fork over to Gunnar in Ravensthorpe.

While Silver is easy to come by in Valhalla early on, altering gear will cost you a lot so you may need to sell a lot of items you own or gamble in minigames. Additionally, over on the game’s Reddit community, players pointed out that after looting and raiding everywhere, Silver becomes scarce.

You can also buy Silver in exchange for real money at the in-game store but this is not a very appreciated feature. No surprises there as players also think that the introduction of transmog in the game could be Ubisoft’s ploy to get players to spend real money on it.

Players are also pointing out that both Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and Origins use a more convenient form of the feature, as does Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Let’s see if Ubisoft shows the same level of kindness in accepting feedback as it did in releasing the feature in the first place.
