Uncharted 4 Might Be Getting a PC Release as per Sony Report

Following the release of Days Gone on PC, another PlayStation exclusive, and major fan-favorite, could be on the way to the platform – Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

This update comes courtesy of a presentation released prior to Sony’s Investor Relations Day where a slide titled “New Growth Vectors: PlayStation Studios” clearly lists Uncharted 4 under the sub-heading “More PC releases planned”.

Sony fast-tracking its exclusives for PC is a trend that’s been seeing extra focus from the company in the past year. With Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn coming out for the platform last year, Sony dropped Days Gone earlier this month and it seems to be primed to rid more AAA titles of their PS-exclusive tag.

In addition to PC, Sony might be looking at strengthening its presence on mobile as well.

In the aforementioned presentation, Sony says mobile is a “new growth area” for PlayStation Studios and also confirms plans to develop games of a PS Studios caliber for mobile devices. Sony’s plans of taking this direction have long been under the speculation and they were recently confirmed when it was reported that the company is looking to hire a Head of Mobile to lead the charge.

As of now, there is no official date on when treasure hunter Nathan Drake’s final adventure will be officially announced for PC. But PlayStation is scheduled to appear in some capacity at Geoff Keighley’s Summer Games Fest 2021, so it’s possible that we will receive the announcement there. However, Sony is skipping E3 this year. So, it’s also plausible that they will reveal Uncharted 4 for PC at some special event of their own.

What’s more, PC will not be the only new medium where fans will get to reacquaint themselves with Nathan Drake. Sony Interactive Entertainment and Sony Pictures Entertainment are also adapting the Uncharted series for a feature film starring Tom Holland and Mark Wahlberg as young Nate and Sully respectively. The film is set for an early-2022 release.

About Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is a 2016 action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment. It is the fourth main entry in the Uncharted series. Set several years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception, players control Nathan Drake, a former treasure hunter coaxed out of retirement by his presumed-dead brother Samuel. With Nathan’s longtime partner, Victor Sullivan, they search for clues for the location of Henry Avery’s long-lost treasure.

A Thief’s End is played from a third-person perspective, and incorporates platformer elements. Players solve puzzles and use firearms, melee combat, and stealth to combat enemies. In the online multiplayer mode, up to ten players engage in co-operative and competitive modes.
