No Skill Drain Effect

The No Skill Drain is an effect or buff that triggers in Valheim after the character’s death. Initially, the character’s skills are drained about -(5-10)% upon death.

But after the first death, the character has a 10 minutes timer in which there won’t be any skills drain even if the character dies a 2nd, 3rd or infinite times.

This buff is especially useful if you have died in a hostile territory and all the enemies are near your grave, and you need to collect your dropped items. Even if the creatures attack and kill you off, you can just respawn and head to your grave without having to worry about your skills being reduced.

Other than this No Skill Drain buff, there is also another effect triggered when you collect your items. That effect is the Corpse Run buff.

2. What is the Corpse Run Buff in Valheim?

Corpse Run allows players to be protected from Blunt, Slash and Pierce damage while they are running away with their items collected from their graves. However, Corpse Run decreases Jump and Run stamina by -75%.

This buff is quite useful when you want to collect items from the hostile place you’ve died at. The buff protects you from attack and lets you run away to a safe zone with your items.
