To summon the Elder in Valheim, find and attain three ancient seeds and burn them at the Elder’s altar. Fight and kill Greydwarf Brutes and Shamans to get your hands on the ancient seeds.

  • Greydwarf Brutes: Compared to ordinary Greydwarves, these enemies pose a formidable challenge as their melee attack inflicts heavy damage.
  • Shamans: Before fighting the Greydwarf Brutes, remember to deal with Shamans first. These foes release a poisonous cloud that harms you but heals the Greydwarfs.

Once you have obtained the seeds, take them to Elder Boss’ location and sacrifice them.

Beating the Elder in Valheim is very back-breaking, so don’t challenge it unless you’re prepared.

  • When at close range, the second boss of the game will stomp his foot on the ground and inflict damage. Whenever in close proximity to the Elder, be ready to dodge any moment.
  • When at medium range, the Elder will use roots to hit you. Use your axe to cut these roots and escape to some safe zone.
  • When you’re away from the Elder, you will have to face vine attacks. Not only does this move hurt you but also damage trees, making them fall on you.

Moreover, other enemies can also join in your fight with the second boss so stay alert at all costs. 

To get an edge over the Elder boss fight in Valheim, you should equip the Viking with:

  • A full set of Bronze armor
  • A Bronze Shield
  • A Bronze Axe

4. The Elder Boss Rewards

When you kill the Elder in Valheim, it will drop the Elder trophy and swamp keys. You can take the trophy to the sacrificial stone location and obtain the Elder power. This super ability will help chop wood at a breakneck speed.
