Valheim Players Are Taking Monster Hunting to New Unprecedented Levels

Considering the sheer creativity that has lately been on display in Valheim, we should have seen this coming already.

Monster hunting for resources that aid in crafting many different things is an essential part of the Valheim experience. But now, players over at r/Valheim are building nightmarish, yet undoubtedly creative, death inducing machines that kill monsters for them. All they do after it’s “done” is pick up the pieces.

Exhibit One: u/Leathermattress’ Greydwarf Toaster 5000. While it’s not a machine you might find in your kitchen, it does most definitely toast things.

The 5000 is a giant flaming pit surrounding a Greydwarf nest (a set of sinister looking branches) where Greydwarfs are known to spawn. So, whenever a new Greydwarf is born, it plummets to its death straight into the fiery hole excavated by the Leathermattress. Every so often, Leathermattress comes around to stoke the fire some more and pick up all the wood, stone, and eyeballs left behind by their previous victims.

There is also u/Canamerican726’s Deathsquito BBQ whose working is fairly self-explanatory. It is a small caged tower with fiery coals at the bottom and plenty of space for fluttering Deathsquito’s at the top. If you’re still not understanding how it functions, you can check out Valheim’s vilest pests roast to their death in the video below.

DEATHSQUITO BBQ anyone?! - Valheim #Shorts

In the comments of their original post on Reddit, Canamerican726 admits that they had to use cheats to spawn Deathsquitos in the BBQ. But an earlier version of the BBQ where they painstakingly lured each Deathsquito to their death is in existence.

These come as a follow-up to u/univarseman’s Surtling Core farm which employs a moat that surrounds the flaming birthplaces of Surtlings.

Thankfully, Valheim players are indulging more than just their sadistic sides in the game. The game has also witnessed more pleasant ideas come to life like fireworks shows, the Millenium Falcon, Norse Bobsledding, and more.
