New Patch 0.155.7 Brings Maypoles and AI Fixes to Valheim

Valheim has been topping PC game charts since it launched in Early Access on Steam at the beginning of the year.

A significant contributor to this success has been Swedish developer Iron Gate’s (which comprises only five people) steadfast deployment of updates that have brought several improvements to the Viking survival co-op.

The game’s latest update, Patch 0.155.7, is primarily focused on bringing AI fixes to the game and also on, well, making monsters more aggressive. And since it’s Midsummer’s Day in Sweden on June 26, the patch also enables players to craft their very own maypoles.

Initially, maypoles could be found only in one of Valheim’s abandoned villages. But what made players covet them so, was their enhanced comfort levels, which contributed to players getting more rest. Having the ability to craft maypoles as needed should help many Valheim players get the rest they need to continue surviving in the game’s hostile environment.

Here are the full patch notes as found on the game’s Steam page:

  •  Random save bug-fix (Solves a very unusual case of world corruption caused when shutting down)
  • Monster AI tweaks (More aggressively attacking structures when unable to attack the player, among other things)
  • Open container fix (Fixes issue where you had to click a container multiple times to open it in multiplayer)
  • Taught Greydwarfs to throw better
  • Event trigger tweaks (Wolf event only triggers after Bonemass has been killed, Moder army can trigger in the mountains, etc.)
  • Long forgotten Blob event enabled
  • SFX volume setting fix (Used wrong DB conversion)
  • Maypole enabled (Happy midsummer!)
  • AI flee behavior tweaks (Bosses don’t run from you anymore)

While new patches are always welcome, what Valheim fans are looking forward to most is the new content set to arrive for the game this year. The first in this line of new content will be the Hearth and Home update, which will focus on the house-building aspect of the game.
