Valkyrie is a series of RPG games published by Square Enix based on Norse mythology. The series kicked off with Valkyrie Profile in 1999 and has since got an additional 3 games.
Valkyrie Elysium, the latest entry to the series was announced back in March, and now its trailer has been released. This will be great news to fans as it has been 15 years since the last console entry of the series.
The trailer reveals that the game will release on September 29th for PlayStation 4 and 5, while PC users will have to wait until November 11th when it arrives on Steam.
The game is available for pre-order on both PlayStation and Steam with a pricing of $59.99 for both console and PC. However, the bonus content is different.
On PlayStation, players will receive the Valkyrie equipment “Alscir: Sword of the God of Light,” while PC gamers get some original wallpapers and three days of early access.
Valkyrie Elysium also comes with a Deluxe edition that costs $74.99 on PlayStation and $64.99 on PC. It includes 72-hour early access along with the in-game item Svartaljr: Sword of the Goddess of the Underworld. PlayStation users will also get a copy of Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, the first title in the Valkyrie series. Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth will also be available on the PlayStation store separately.
What is Valkyrie Elysium?
Valkyrie Elysium is a new action RPG that features an evocative world inspired by Norse mythology, excitingly fast-paced real-time combat, beautiful visuals, and a stunning soundtrack.

The game is set during Ragnarok as Fenrir tries to take everything away from Odin. With the last of his strength, the All-Father Odin creates an emissary of redemption – a Valkyrie, the game’s protagonist. There are exciting characters to meet along the way, such as Eygon and Cypher.
The game features a new Soul Chain system. There are also a wide array of abilities to enhance the combat system with deadly combos. As in any RPG, skills and weapons can be upgraded, resulting in different playing styles.
There are also power-up abilities called the Divine arts, which can be used and upgraded as well. These are typical power-up abilities stronger than usual attacks that can be used after the ‘Arts Gauge’ fills up.
The game includes many of the series’ defining elements: imaginative worlds, combo-based battle systems, and summonable ‘Einherjar’ to assist you in combat. It fuses these with bold new ideas, including a thrillingly fast-paced and strategic action-based battle system.
