Focus Points (FP) & Mana – Replenishing & Farming Guide – Elden Ring

Numerous players will be capable of completing their journey in Elden Ring without worrying about focus points. Ultimately, Souls gamers are best known for their imaginative and strategic gameplay, and Elden Ring provides players with more space for creativity.

Due to the same reason, Elden Ring progresses more leisurely than Dark Souls, which might not be appealing to each player. Hence, you’re free to emphasize Elden Ring’s other attributes, namely dexterity and strength.

If you’re an Elden Ring maniac, you’ve probably come across focus points (FP).

Players use FP to cast spells and incantations of any type. You can see the remaining FP via a blue bar on the HUD. Moreover, you can temporarily boost and replenish your FP with the help of a few magical items and pieces of equipment.

Note: In Elden Ring, focus points (FP) are also known as Mana.

In this guide, you’ll learn how to replenish and farm more FP in Elden Ring in order to continue casting magic.

Here’s how players can use the Flask of Cerulean Tears to gain FP:

  • Hit the X on the Xbox controller or Square on the PS controller to use the flask
  • Besides, you can press the D-pad on the controller to change the flask you were previously using and activate the Flask of Cerulean Tears
  • Once equipped, the Flask of Cerulean Tears will act as an exhaustible source of FP for you

Generally, players will equip the flask by default in the quick item slots. But, if they haven’t, the upcoming steps might be helpful.

Mana while Fighting an Enemy

Running out of FP or Mana while fighting an enemy can cripple your ability to cite incantations, which may snatch the victory away from you. You can replenish the Flask of Cerulean Tears with FP in the following ways:

  • Killing a potent opponent
  • Winning against a group of enemies
  • Murdering Cerulean Teardrop Scarabs

Although replenishing the flask is plenty helpful, increasing the volume of the flask is more advisable and beneficial in the long run.

Increasing the Amount of Usable FP

Players can increase the amount of useable FP in a couple of ways.

I. Increasing the Mind Attribute

Increasing the Mind Attribute

Mind (MND) is a primary attribute in Elden Ring that impacts FP, meaning the more MND points a character has, the bigger their focus pool and the larger number of spells they can cast.

Players need to spend runes such as the Lands Between rune at a Site of Grace in order to level up the mind attribute.

While resting at a Site of Grace, reach out to level up your character, then select the option to upgrade the MND attribute. It’s essential to remember that the ability to level up MND unlocks only after meeting Melina.

After doing the needful, you’ll notice the FP gauge increasing a bit as well.

II. Using the Golden Seeds

Using the Golden Seeds

The Flask of Cerulean Tears is upgradable, and players can use this feature to increase its capacity. It’s possible through the use of Golden Seeds. Besides, these seeds are present throughout the Site of Grace.

Upon successful collection, you may use the Golden Seeds to increase the flask’s charges. It’s a repetitive process following which players will be able to use the flask a greater number of times resulting in more FP.
