To be the best Viking in Valheim, you need to defeat tons of mythical creatures and overpowered Bosses. As you venture into different parts of Valheim’s vast map, you discover some new undead enemies which are a bit too hard to kill with a normal Bow or a Bronze Sword. You need Spirit Damage equipped weapon to properly fight those creatures.
If you’re wondering what even is spirit damage and how do you use it to fight undead creatures, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Let’s start with what spirit damage is all about.
1. What is Spirit Damage in Valheim?
Spirit Damage is one of the four elemental damage types found in weapons of Valheim. The Spirit Damage allows players to fight undead enemies like Skeletons, Fenrings and Draugrs.
Spirit Damage is especially helpful when you’re dealing with a Skeleton Spawner or a bunch of Draugrs. Weapons made out of Silver generally have added spirit damage in them. But, we’ll get to that later. First, you need to know how spirit damage works.
2. How Does Spirit Damage Work?
Spirit Damage is used for fighting undead enemies. Once equipped, a weapon with Spirit Damage does not only deal a good amount of damage, but it also unleashes a blue fire to burn enemies like Wraiths etc. and continues to cause damage overtime.
Spirit Damage is indeed a handy elemental type you can use for fighting. But only a select few weapons have inbuilt Spirit Damage capabilities. So, you might want to take a note on the ones that do.
3. Weapons with Spirit Damage
There are a total of three weapons that have the added Spirit Damage in them. They are: Frostner, Silver Sword, and Silver Arrows.
Now that you know the weapons, let me tell you about how to gather all the materials to make them.
I. Frostner
Frostner is one of the most powerful weapons in the game. It not only has added 20 Spirit Damage but also deals 40 Frost Damage on creatures and slows down their attacks.
Item | Material Required |
Frostner | 10x Ancient Bark 30x Silver 5x Ymir Flesh 5x Freeze Glands |
Anicent Barks can be found by chopping Ancient Trees near the swamp with a Bronze axe. Whereas, Silver can be smelted from silver ores found in the mountain biomes. Ymir Flesh can only be purchased from the merchant Haldor with 120 coins per piece and Freeze glands can be collected from Drakes found in the mountain biome.
II. Silver Sword
Silver Sword is also a powerful weapon in the game. It deals 20 Spirit Damage and has a Slash Damage of 75, making it quite the force to be reckoned with.
Item | Material Required |
Silver Sword | 2x Wood 40x Silver 3x Leather Scraps 5x Iron |
As the sword does not have many rare materials to be collected, you can easily make this one and hunt down those nasty Draugrs.
III. Silver Arrows
This arrow type is quite overpowered. It does not only have 20 Spirit Damage, but it also has 52 Pierce Damage, making each shot worth it.
Item | Material Required |
Silver Arrows | 8x Wood 1x Silver 2x Feathers |
Before making this arrow, make sure you have a level 3 Forge, since the recipe won’t be unlocked without it.
Now that you know just what weapons are perfect to hunt down undead creatures in Valheim, go on and get to crafting to finally appease Odin and get to Valhalla.
