How to Get Every Legendary Spirit Ash – Location Guide – Elden Ring

Upon starting the game, Elden Ring takes players on a ride around its intriguing combat concepts, such as incantations, magic, and various kinds of weapons. One of the most exciting aspects of the game that players come across in the very first hour of gameplay is the ability to summon Spirit Ashes.

As long as you’re not playing Co-op mode, using Spirit Ashes is the most effortless way to progress in Elden Ring.

Similar to other Souls games, Elden Ring is almost impervious to low difficulty. As a result, Spirit Ashes come in handy while dealing with bosses or opponents you’re not able to demolish yourself. There are numerous Spirit Ashes in the game, but only a few live up to the status of being legendary.

You can find the six legendary Spirit Ashes, namely Lhutel the Headless, Black Knife Tiche, Redmane Knight Ogha, Mimic Tear Ashes, Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff, and Cleanrot Knight Finlay, by navigating Lands Between and killing their wielders. They drop these legendary Spirit Ashes upon being defeated.

Here’s a detailed guide to lead to each of the six legendary Spirit Ashes in Elden Ring.

1. Lhutel the Headless

You can get your hands on Lhutel the Headless’ Spirit Ash by killing the Cemetery Shade boss of the Tombsward Catacombs in Weeping Peninsula.

To reach the Tombsward Catacombs, players need to fast travel to the South of the Lookout Tower Grace Site found in Weeping Peninsula. Upon reaching the given location, you need to head west until you notice a bridge.

Then, cross the bridge and continue progressing further in the same direction until you reach the Tombsward Catacombs. Your last task is to defeat the Cemetery Shade boss, which isn’t daunting if you possess ranged spell attacks.

After killing the boss, retrieve the Spirit Ash. It’ll summon Lhutel the Headless as your ally for a cost of 104 Focus Points (FP).

2. Black Knife Tiche

Players can grab Black Knife Tiche’s Spirit Ash by navigating to the Ringleader’s Evergaol in Liurnia of the Lakes and destroying the Black Knife Ringleader.

Getting to the above-mentioned location can be a bit challenging if you aren’t acquainted with Elden Ring’s map. However, you can reach the destination simply by completing Ranni’s questline.

Once you reach the Ringleader’s Evergaol, you’ll come face to face with the Black Knife Tiche. Kill him to get your hands on one of the most revered Spirit Ashes.

Additionally, to utilize this Spirit Ash in Elden Ring, players will have to expend 132 FP.

3. Redmane Knight Ogha

You can extract Redmane Knight Ogha’s Spirit Ash by demolishing the Putrid Tree Spirit. Typically, this boss is found wandering the War-Dead Catacombs in eastern Caelid.

Unfortunately, getting to this destination encompasses a painstaking journey. It would be best if you started by defeating Starscourge Radahn. Once you put an end to him, travel northeast of the dead body until you arrive at the War-Dead Catacombs.

One last monumental fight remains between you and the potent Spirit Ash of Redmane Knight Ogha. However, defeating the Putrid Tree Spirit is somewhat troublesome. He’s vulnerable to Frostbite and Fire damage, so consider yourself lucky if you have the Hoarfrost Stomp Ash of War.

If you’re a sorcerer-type combat specialist, you should consider using the Frostbite Mage build. After you finish the Tree Spirit, you’ll soon find out that using this Spirit Ash requires 106 FP.

4. Mimic Tear Ashes

Players can end their hunt for the legendary Spirit Ash of Mimic Tear in a chest behind the Imp Statue door in Night’s Sacred Ground of Nokron, Eternal City.

Like the last legendary Spirit Ash, you can get to this location by defeating Starscourge Radahn. Subsequently, venture to the Nokron, Eternal City Grace Site by descending into the meteor crater that hits Limgrave.

After following a path past a bridge leading to a massive door, you’ll fight the Mimic Tear boss. Defeating him is relatively easy as all you’ve to do is empty your inventory and wait for him to replicate. Then, you’ve to reequip your weapons and demolish him with basic critical attacks.

Once he’s dead, venture to the Ancestral Woods Site of Grace and enter the castle through a window. Next, move past the altar in front of you to reach the end of a passage consisting of a mist wall. Unlock it with a Stonesword Key, kill the enemy in the room and retrieve the Spirit Ashes from a chest.

This Spirit Ash is significantly distinct from the rest as instead of FP, it requires 660 HP for summoning.

5. Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff

You can get Ancient Dragon Knight Kristoff’s Spirit Ash by defeating the Ancient Hero Zamor. He sits in the Sainted Hero’s Grave in Altus Plateau.

Upon reaching Atlus Plateau, you can find the cave in the center of the map. Enter the cave to encounter Zamor, an enemy whose attacks are easy to dodge. To kill this foe, you’ve to prioritize heavy jumping attacks, which is necessary to break the boss’ stance.

Pick up the legendary Spirit Ash after claiming victory and spend 108 FP to utilize it.

6. Cleanrot Knight Finlay

The legendary Spirit Ash of Cleanrot Knight Finlay is present in Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree. You can find it in the chest guarded by Finlay, a Cleanrot Knight.

To reach Elphael, you first need to travel to Miquella’s Haligtree. Upon arriving, go to the Prayer Room Grace Site, exit through the door adjacent to the Summoning Pool, and climb down three staircases.

Subsequently, jump onto the platform across a broken railing and progress into the area with a candlelit gazebo. Enter the door on the left, defeat the Cleanrot Knight and retrieve the Spirit Ash from the chest.

It’ll cost you 127 FP to use the Spirit Ash of Finlay.
