Dead and Bloated Treasure Map Location

To locate the Dead and Bloated treasure map in God of War 4, go to the Volunder Mines north of the Mountain. The region will be accessible in the Second Hand Soul favor mission given to you by Brok Huldra, the dwarf.

When you reach the R-shaped rune, make your way down the chain, where you’ll have to fight Nightmare enemies. After killing them all, climb up the nearby platform and progress towards your left.

Note: Nightmares are pest creatures in God of War 4 that can float and shoot magic projectiles.

Keep moving forward until you reach the chain that’ll take you down to a chest. After looting the chest, pick up the Dead and Bloated treasure map lying next to the chest. The map description reads:

“The troll who killed my kin is slain, but the battle has taken its toll. I’ve buried whatever I’ve left near his corpse. Ingrid and I used to frequent this beach to watch the sun rise over the temple.”

The map will be visible in the Goals tab under the Treasure map sub-tab. The next task is to find the treasure.

In God of War 4, the Dead and Bloated treasure lies buried next to a troll corpse in the back part of the Cliffs of the Raven beach west of Volunder Mines.

To reach the Cliffs of the Raven beach, get into a boat and begin sailing to the ice-covered paths along the southeast shore of the Lake of Nine. After reaching, dock the boat and climb up the chain on the right before turning left.

Continue moving forward, and you’ll find a climbable wall on Kratos’ right. Scale the wall and jump immediately on your right, putting Kratos on the cliff with the Nornir chest. Turn back towards your left and hop on to a path that leads to the main gate. Behind the large area, you’ll notice a giant troll corpse on the floor, as mentioned in the description on the map.

Search the ground in front of the corpse to find the buried Dead and Bloated treasure.

Brok or Sindri can use this to upgrade your ax Pommel with life-draining abilities.

Enchantments

Enchantments are gems. You can socket them into Kratos’ armor to reduce inflicted damage or upgrade a specific skill. The more powerful the armor is, the more enchantment slots it will have. Keep in mind, a maximum of 3 per armor is possible.

In God of War, Enchantment gems come in 4 varieties – common, rare, legendary, and epic. You can find them in chests and as droppings from killed enemies or buy them from Brok or Sindri.

III. Soft Svartalfheim Steel

It’s a sturdy fragment of Dwarven metal, used to upgrade various armor sets and Talon Bow in God of War. You can find Svartalfheim steel in red chests and coffins. You can also collect them as droppings by slaying low-level enemies in Midgard.

It’s common unlike, hardened Svartalfheim steel, which you’ll find only in the later sections of the game.

IV. Hacksilver

Hacksilver is the main currency in God of War. You can use it for crafting, buying, and upgrading your gear. You’ll mostly find them in chests, but you can farm them by smashing objects like boxes, crates, and vases. Remember, players can also gain a few Hacksilver by breaking hanging buckets.

God of War is more or less an open-world game, so it’s possible to find missions you’re not prepared for yet. Don’t fret if you miss any collectibles on the journey because you’ll be able to come back and collect them later.
