Finding the Grand Lift of Rold – Easy Location Guide – Elden Ring

Elden Ring delivers on its promise of leading players throughout the campaign and holding it in airtight progressions. Players are typically needed to find various items and fight several bosses to unleash areas.

Such vital items are acquired through numerous ways, including taking up NPC questlines, looting dead bodies and treasures, and retrieving from defeated enemies. In simpler terms, FromSoftware encourages you to navigate the whole world of Lands Between to progress.

However, one location you may find challenging to get to is the Grand Lift of Rold. This lift serves a crucial purpose in the game’s progression as it guides you to the Mountaintops of the Giants, where you’ll get aid from Melina, the maiden.

You can get to the Grand Lift of Rold in Elden Ring by crossing the Forbidden Lands and defeating a couple of optional bosses. You’ll have to kill a Night’s Cavalry first and then demolish the Black Blade Kindred, the guardian of the lift.

To reach the Grand Lift of Rold, you need to acquire the Capital City Leyndell map fragment. This piece of map will make it effortless for you to perceive the route you need to take to reach the destination.

After finding the map fragment, players have to return to the main route of the Capital City. Upon reaching the Avenue Balcony Grace Site, progress south to notice the path where you came face to face with the optional boss of Erdtree.

Then, you’ve to move east as much as possible until you notice a giant doorway. When you open the portal, you unleash the Capitals’ Eastern Outskirts. Climb up the stairs through the gateway while being on high alert regarding the enemies lurking around.

The top end of the stairs possess a lever to switch on an elevator, but it’s not the Grand Lift of Rold. Nevertheless, it’s necessary for helping you get there.

A long bridge above the elevator leads to a second elevator that will take you to the Forbidden Lands. In Elden Ring, the Forbidden Lands is the last remaining bridge between the Altus Plateau and the Mountaintops of the Giants. It would help if you crossed this bridge to get to the Giant Lift of Rold.

Nonetheless, there are a couple of bosses you’ll have to face on your way. A Night’s Cavalry is the first and the weaker of the two, while the Black Blade Kindred is a potent Gargoyle guardian of the lift.

After turning these foes to dust, progress further and use Rold’s Medallion to unlock the Grand Lift of Rold!
