New World: Is There a Best Faction? Which Faction Should I Choose?

New World: Is There a Best Faction? Which Faction Should I Choose?

MMORPGs and taxing decision-making have always been synonymous with each other, and New World moves in the same direction too. Through Factions, the game compels enthusiasts to select their characters’ identities and forge unique destinies.

Upon reaching level 10, players can pick one of the three factions in New World: the Syndicate, the Marauders, and the Covenant. With its noteworthy gear and spellbinding lore, each Faction offers a unique opportunity to take over Aeternum.

If your undecisive mind can’t decide which Faction you should choose, don’t dilly-dally! Maybe my opinion is what you were looking for before selecting a Faction in New World.

Which Faction Did I Choose?

Marauders, Syndicate, or Covenant Faction in New World

The Faction that I chose to join in New World is the Syndicate since it’s the biggest one.

Picking the most powerful Faction made my life much easier since it helped me learn the ways of the MMORPG and evaluate the impact of several buffs on my playstyle.

Note: The strength of a Faction is directly proportional to the land controlled by it.

On the other hand, if you like to live on the edge, then it makes more sense to join a minor faction like the Covenant. There’s a certain charm in being the underdog, but the game can seem very overwhelming when you switch to the PvP mode. So, I wouldn’t really recommend it.

The reason I shot down being a dark horse is that being new to MMORPGs, I didn’t want to step out all blazing guns and not enjoy the experience because of the high competition level.

Moreover, with the two more prominent factions battling it out for glory, I felt it’d be pretty awful to be aligned with the smallest faction that’s watching all the action from the sidelines.

Despite all this, you should totally disregard what I’m saying and choose for yourself at the end of the day. Factions do not impact the gameplay and picking one should be a personal choice.

Since the lore and cosmetics sported by each organization in New World are unique, you can choose one on the basis of the most eye-catching aesthetics.

Again, I loved the attire of ‘The Syndicate’ because I find the plague doctor aesthetics pretty cool, but you go ahead with the one that speaks to your heart!

Choosing Faction on the Basis of Lore and Cosmetic

Factions in New World

The Covenant: This holier-than-thou ‘fanatical order’ worships the spark and aims to get rid of heretics. The color associated with this Faction is orange. Zealous clothes are sported by this band.

The Marauders: A military force that annihilates enemies to make Aeternum free of its scum. This Faction gives strength the highest regard, and its primary color is orange. As one can imagine, the Marauders wear a true warrior’s attire.

The Syndicate: A secret group that treasures intellect and, with the capabilities of magic, pursues hidden knowledge and truth. They sport a purple color scheme and dress like plague doctors.

Can I Change My Faction in New World?

After joining a Faction, you will have to wait for 120 days to jump ship and choose another one.

It’s recommended to choose a faction after some dedicated thinking. It costs players 100 Azoth to swap factions, and all the tokens earned with the last group will cease to exist.

Once the faction has been changed, you will have to twiddle their thumbs for 120 more days to jump to another one.

Sure, it seems like an eternal wait to change factions, but at least this system is better than being stuck with one band forever!
