The main villains in God of War: Ragnarok is Thor, the Norse God of Thunder, and Freya, the Goddess of Love. Both of them had fights with Kratos during the reveal trailer of the much-awaited sequel.

However, these aren’t the only villains that you’ll encounter while playing God of War Ragnarok. Therefore, in this article, we’ll go through everything you need to know about the potential enemies Kratos will face in the upcoming sequel.

Freya seeks revenge on Kratos as he killed Baldur, her son, during the events in God of War. Witnessing this event threw her into a rage, and she’s now one of the main villains in God of War Ragnarok.

Kratos took down Baldur to save Freya, as the son was attempting to kill the Norse Goddess of Beauty. However, Freya doesn’t know the actual truth and believes Kratos killed her son out of spite.

The trailer shows Freya ambushing Kratos and Atreus during their journey, indicating that we will see many different encounters with her in the game. She is known to be ruthless, even placing a curse upon her son in the previous game, making him unable to feel any pain.

Either Thor or Odin will take on the role of the main villain in God of War Ragnarok. Both of them see Kratos and Atreus as potential threats and are furious for killing their family members like Magni, Modi, and Baldur.

The ending of God of War saw Kratos killing Thor’s two sons, leaving the God of Thunder furious, and he looks to seek revenge. The trailer shows him encountering Kratos as he pulls out the Mjolnir, ready to fight the Ghost of Sparta.

However, the narrative of the encounter is still unknown, as Thor doesn’t have any speaking lines and jumps straight into battle in the clip. It’ll be interesting to see how these two interact after the events that took place during the ending of God of War.

Odin will likely appear in God of War Ragnarok as the voice team features Richard Schiff taking on the role of the chief God. The father of Norse Gods could be the main antagonist in the upcoming sequel, as the prophecy of Ragnarok slowly approaches.

Odin was named several times during the trailer, with Kratos mentioning that he’s looking to plan something sinister. It could mean that Odin will make a proper appearance in the trailer, with the possibility of a boss battle.

For now, the chief God will play as the man pulling the strings and is likely to come up with unexpected plot twists during God of War Ragnarok.

Will Tyr be a villain in God of War Ragnarok?

According to several theories, Tyr will betray Kratos and become a villain in God of War Ragnarok. The Norse God of War appeared in the trailer while Kratos was asking for his assistance during his journey.

It should be noted that Tyr didn’t say a single word and continued to stare down Kratos until the trailer ended. Several theories say that Tyr will betray Kratos and become one of the many Norse God villains in God of War Ragnarok.
