5 Oldest Assassins Who Lived a Longer Life than Others

The Assassin’s Creed franchise boasts some of the most diverse protagonists in a video game series. Each new game brought with itself lots of new characters to meet and interact with. These new characters were complete with their extraordinary personality and a plethora of unique physical traits.

The protagonist in each game had various differentiating physical characteristics such as height, age, complexion, & etc. Since there is so much diversity available in the franchise, I decided to make a fun list. I have ranked assassins on the basis of their ages, to determine who was the oldest among them, serving the brotherhood until they kicked the bucket.

To make this list simple I have taken the ages of all the playable assassins at the time of their death into consideration. This means assassins like Al-Mualim won’t be a part for this ranking. Lastly the assassins in the ‘Chronicles’ games, are also not a part of this list (my list my rules!). So, here are top 5 oldest assassins in Assassin’s Creed.

5. Edward Kenway

Edward Kenway, the full-time pirate and part-time assassin, was briefly a member of West Indies Brotherhood. After joining the assassins, Edward transformed from a selfish man running after money into a man fighting for a larger cause.

He returned to England after all his plundering and adventures in the Caribbean. He joined the British Brotherhood where he became a Master Assassin, and eventually their leader. He was tragically murdered by the mercenaries employed by Templar Grand master Reginald Birch. Edward was of age 42 at the time of his death.

4. Ezio Auditore da Firenze

Ezio, the charming Italian assassin, fought with some of the most powerful people in the world like the Pope Rodrigo Borgia and later his son Cesare Borgia. Ezio traveled far and wide, he embarked on a journey of full adventures and became much wiser with years.

Ezio retired in Firenze (Florence) with his wife Sofia and children where he trained a Chinese assassin Shao Jun. Ezio died at the age of 65 due to a heart attack caused by old age. He passed away peacefully sitting on a bench looking at his family and legacy. (yes, I cried and so would you!)

3. Adewale

Adewale was a pirate turned assassin, who served as the quartermaster of Jackdaw for Edward Kenway.

Adewale joined the assassins in the year 1719 and believed in the cause of assassins. It gave him a purpose greater than himself, and an opportunity to live a meaningful life.

Adewale was assassinated by Templar Shay Patrick Cormac, a former assassin, at the age of 66 during the purge of the Colonial Brotherhood.

2. Altair

Altair was the member of Levantine Brotherhood and was one of the youngest assassins joining the Brotherhood at the age of 26 at that time.

Altair was responsible for the Levantine Brotherhood during his later years. He gained immense knowledge through the Apple of Eden. He made several reforms which changed the brotherhood forever. For example, he found a way to wield the hidden blade without the removal of a finger.

He also created a codex, and a massive library in Masyaf Castle which contained all knowledge he acquired. He hoped this knowledge would further aid assassins in their quest against Templars.

He died at the age of 92 in Masyaf Castle due to old age.

1. Kassandra

Kassandra was the oldest assassin in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. She had a lifespan of 2476 years. The reason Kassandra was able to live for 2 millennia was due to the reason that she possessed the Staff of Hermes which granted her immortality.

Kassandra eventually passed on the Staff of Hermes to the assassin Layla Hassan in the year 2018, which led to her death as she lost her immortality.  This makes Kassandra the oldest living assassin in the whole franchise.
