Assassin’s Creed Valhalla tasks you to go on a quest called the Poor Fellow Soldier of Christ in order to find the location of ‘The Father’. The Poor Fellow Soldier of Christ has been giving you tips about the order and its identity reveal is not something I anticipated.
As you progress in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, you are tasked to locate The Grand Master, or The Father, who’s the head of the Order of the Ancients.
You receive several clues, and one of the final pieces of the puzzle is to talk with your ‘informant’ the Poor Fellow of The Christ to get the location of The Father.
The post will contain spoilers, consider yourself warned.
1. Who’s the Poor Fellow Soldier Of Christ?
Once you complete the main story, kill all the members of the ancient order, and find and eliminate the zealots, you will receive the final quest titled The Poor Fellow Soldier of Christ from Hytham to finally reveal the identity and location of the Head of the Order of the Ancients.
The quest tasks you to meet with the ‘Informant’ who has been giving you the clues all along.
The Poor Fellow Soldier Of Christ who has been giving you the clues to eliminate the Ancient Order is revealed to be King Alfred. Alfred is also secretly The Father, the head of the Order of the Ancients.
The unexpected arc that The Poor Fellow Soldier of Christ who has been the informant against the Order of the Ancients is The Grand Master himself left me quite shocked. Was he on the other side all along as we have been searching for him?
2. Is The Father a good guy?
The identity reveal of The Poor Fellow Soldier of Christ to be King Alfred, The Father himself who has been giving us the information all along is a big twist.
King Alfred inherited the title of GrandMaster from his brother and turns out he is not too fond of the Order. He hatched a plan to destroy the Order by passing information to The Hidden Ones.
The Father, King Alfred did not agree with The Order of The Ancients or what they stood for, so he formed a plan to leak information to The Hidden Ones to destroy the Order.
Alfred continued to live his life in exile and he later reinvented the order which later came to be known as the Templars.
3. How to Find The Father In AC: Valhalla?
The quest is not easy to initiate as we need to complete a list of requirements to access the quest.
Complete the main arc in AC:Valhalla: You should complete the main story arcs of all the locations in AC Valhalla.
Finish Everyone in The Order of the Ancients: These are more or less taken care of as you progress in the storyline.
Eliminate all of the Zealots: The Zealots are marked on your map with a white shield icon when you get near them. They usually wander around, so they shouldn’t be hard to locate.
Once all the requirements are met, Go to Ravensthorpe and speak with Hytham. He is located outside of the longhouse and not at his usual place at The Hidden One’s Bureau. You’ll pick up the quest, which will require you to travel to Aethelnay.
Starting ‘The Poor Fellow Soldier of Christ’ quest in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla requires you to complete the main story arc, eliminate the Order of The Ancients and kill every Zealot. After which, Hytham at his longhouse will let you start the quest.
