Top 10 Richest Assassins in Assassin’s Creed

Top 10 Richest Assassins in Assassin’s Creed

It’s no secret that assassins in the Assassin’s Creed games were formidable warriors who brought down entire regimes. But they were also some of the wealthiest people of the time and lived a lavish life (at least most of them).

The Assassin’s Creed franchise has taken its players on a journey around the world, from the open waters of the Caribbean to the deserts of Egypt. With each new installment, not only the setting of the game was changed but also the time periods in which the events of the games took place.

Since I wasn’t trying to be a math geek and wanted to make a simple list, I have not taken economic factors such as inflation into account. With that out of the way, here are the richest assassins ever to have lived but beware! There are spoilers ahead.

10. Altair

Altair lived by the creed and died by the creed, and thus was one of the poorest assassin to ever exist.

All the wealth and materialistic belongings which Altair accumulated during his life span was for the brotherhood. The only thing in which one can argue that Altair was rich was his loyalty to the creed and knowledge, but when it comes to money – yeah, he was certainly not rolling in it. Altair sits ‘humbly’ at the number 10 spot in our list.

9. Bayek of Siwa

Bayek of Siwa, one of the last Medjay of Ptolemaic dynasty, with his chief job being the protector of Egyptian people, makes it easy to assume that all those shiny titles came with equally shiny gold but that assumption would be gravely wrong.

Bayek was not rich in terms of money by any means. He led a simple life with little to no wealth to claim as his. After the death of his child, he renounced all the materialistic possessions he owned. Bayek only cared for one thing in his life and that’s revenge. For those reasons he sits at the number 9 spot in our list.

8. Arno Dorian

Arno Dorian was the son of assassin Charles Dorian who was killed by Templar Shay Cormac. This left a young Arno orphaned with nothing to his name, which we assume wasn’t much or was taken by the Templars.

When we find Arno, he is no different from an errand boy. The only reason Arno survived this long was due to the simple fact that the Templar Grandmaster looked after him. Arno eventually bought some cafes around Paris and renovated them but owning a cafe in the middle of a revolution doesn’t seem to be a reliable source of a huge income. Arno takes the number 8 spot in our list.

7. Shay Patrick Cormac

Shay Patrick Cormac – an assassin turned Templar is arguably one of the most lethal person one can fight.

Shay betrays the brotherhood when he believes that the assassins are responsible for deaths of innocents. He joins the Templars and disturbs the precursor sites which leads to natural disasters. It is no secret that the Templars always had deep pockets and compensated their members very handsomely. He eventually settled down and lived a comfortable life as a family man in the far east Europe. Shay sits comfortably at number 7 in our list.

6. Connor Kenway

Ratonhnhake:ton, more commonly known as Connor Kenway came from a poor Native American Tribe but was the son of Templar Haytham Kenway. When Achilles, the leader of the American Assassin Brotherhood adopted Ratonhnhake:ton, he gave him the name of Connor Kenway (after his own dead son) and taught him how to be an assassin.

When Achilles died, all the estates which he owned like ‘Davenport Homestead’ was passed down to Connor. Not only that, but Connor also inherited wealth from his real father Haytham Kenway.

Connor eventually built and owned many taverns and mills and pelt trading outposts, thus creating his own trade network. This ensured a comfortable life for Connor and a number 6 spot in our list.

5. Jacob & Evie Frye

The twins Jacob and Evie Frye ran one of the biggest underground gangs in London during the Industrial Revolution. At the height of their power, the brother-sister duo owned most of the London and brought in a lot of wealth.

Not only that, but the twins even owned a train which served as their base of operations. They frequently organized train heists and fight clubs which also served as a source of income. For all of these reasons and by the fact that all this happened during one of the most crucial moments in history, the Frye twins rob the number 5 spot in our list.

4. Edward Kenway

Edward Kenway is a pirate first, and an assassin later. Throughout his life, Edward only chased one thing and that is wealth, which he acquired eventually.

Edward pillaged and looted his way to the riches he desired in the seas of Caribbean. Not only that but he also ‘stole’ ships from his defeated foes and included them in his fleet which was then used for one thing and that is trade. Edward literally built a trading empire and retired comfortably in London in a big mansion after buying his freedom from the British Government. With expensive tastes, he even re-married and that’s why, Edward buys the number 4 spot in our list.

3. Ezio Auditore da Firenze

One of the most iconic assassins to ever live was Ezio. He knew how to live life king-size. Ezio not only came from a powerful and rich family but also had powerful and rich relatives such as his uncle Mario – the ruler of Monteriggioni.

During his course of life, Ezio managed to acquire loads of assets such as various shops and monuments which ensured a constant stream of money for him to spend on. At the peak of his financial life, Ezio owned most of the Rome and Constantinople along with Monteriggioni and other family estates which definitely makes him one of the richest assassins to ever live and a well deserving for the number 3 spot in our list.

2. Eivor

Eivor, the raiding Viking certainly saw plenty of sights and riches during her life time. She came from a noble family and took part in raids all over the ‘New World’.

Eivor ultimately became the chieftain of a settlement named ‘Ravensthrope’ and all the spoils from her raids, definitely secured a comfortable and financially secured life. It’s a bit hard to quantify her wealth, but there is no denying that Eivor was rich. She raids the number 2 spot in our list.

1. Kassandra

Kassandra is the richest assassin in the Assassin’s Creed franchise. She came from a very noble family, claiming descend from figures like King Leonidas of Sparta and Pythagoras and served as a mercenary. Not only that, Kassandra also lived for 2500 years due to the effects of Staff of Hermes which she acquired. This enabled Kassandra to amass wealth like no other.

It is next to impossible to estimate Kassandra’s wealth. She earned much money as a mercenary and on top of that she had a massive lifespan. So, it is safe to assume whatever wealth she gained is far ahead of what any assassin could ever accumulate. She literally had 2 millennia to acquire a fortune!

Kassandra sits at the number 1 spot in our list.
