Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the hottest release from Ubisoft right now. Should players buy the new Vikings, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla stand-alone, or get it from Ubisoft’s Uplay Plus library if it’s available?
AC: Valhalla is all set with a release coming up next week. Players are lining up their pre-orders, and I’m no different. One buying option most of us glossed over is Ubisoft’s own Uplay Plus; similar to game pass, it is Uplay’s subscription-based gaming service.
Getting Uplay Plus means getting access to over 100 titles for a fraction of the price, but it would not make much sense if the collection doesn’t include the latest release of AC: Valhalla.
1. Will Assassin’s Creed Valhalla be on Uplay +?
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will be available on Uplay Plus to the subscribers on day one release itself. Gamers on Uplay Plus will get access to the Premium Edition of AC: Valhalla as soon as the game is released along with the rest of the world.
Uplay Plus or Ubisoft+ as it has been renamed now, sounds promising as Ubisoft has confirmed that new releases will be included in the service and that too with the premium editions.
Uplay+ not only allows you to save big bucks but also gives you access to more games than you could have otherwise. One downside is that you will lose access once you decide to cancel the monthly subscription.
The initial day one release sounds good, but will Ubisoft also releases the DLCs to AC: Valhalla on Uplay+? or will players be stranded without content.
2. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla DLCs on Uplay+
The day one release is expected, but I was concerned most about the release of DLCs to Valhalla. I didn’t want to subscribe to Uplay Plus only to pay for DLCs separately later.
All DLCs, expansion packs, season passes to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla will also be included in Uplay Plus. This expands to all early access and beta programs too.
Ubisoft confirms that the following will indeed be available with every upcoming release that is available on Uplay Plus:
- Access to some premium editions of games.
- Additional content, such as DLCs and expansions.
- Automatic inclusion in all applicable early access and beta programs.
This was a no brainer for me at this point as Uplay+ offered the full content at a reduced price, but sometimes I replay my games to take a stroll down memory lane. If I decide to get a copy of the game, will my saves be carried over from the Uplay+ edition?
3. AC Valhalla: Save Game Sync from Uplay+
Ubisoft has us covered as it is confirmed that the save games are synced to the cloud and will be transferred if you decide to buy a copy of the game and cancel your Uplay Plus subscription.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla saves will carry over to your copy of the game if you buy one and decide to cancel the UPlay Plus Subscription.

By playing as Eivor, gamers must represent the clan and help fellow warriors in the battle against Anglo-Saxon Kingdoms. The game brims with phenomenal main quests along with noteworthy side quests. AC Valhalla will also embrace many new features like dual-wielding of various weapons and armours.
