The captivating storyline, striking visuals, and fluent gameplay have easily made God of War: Ragnarok one of the best and most popular games of 2022.
Despite having 20+ hours long storyline and content, players can’t get enough of the godly father-son duo, and they are eagerly waiting for additional DLC content for this epic Norse saga conclusion. Unfortunately, the news is not good for such fans!
God of War: Ragnarok will not have a DLC, as confirmed by Game Director Eric Williams on the ‘Kinda Funny Games’ podcast.
Even though he did not completely deny the possibility, he mentioned it in a way that fans should not get their hopes high. He said,
I don’t know, man. That game is big. I think we put everything we had into it, so I wouldn’t count on it.Eric Williams
His statement makes a lot of sense, as God of War: Ragnarok is the most extensive entry in the series and has many side quests and places to explore, even if you have exhausted the main storyline quickly.
On the podcast, Williams went into great length about the shocks that await players in the post-game as well as a lot of the subtle foreshadowing that keen spectators may spot during a second run.
However, all of this does not mean that the game will not have any kind of post-launch feature, as Santa Monica Studios have already confirmed through a tweet that the Photo Mode will soon be available as a free update.
Still, fans should not get their hopes up as there will be no more content expansion in the game, considering it’s the last one of the saga.
Is God of War Ragnarok the last game in Norse mythology?
God of War: Ragnarok is the last game in the Norse saga of the series. But this does not mean that there won’t be any more God of War games in the future.
As most of the primary Norse pantheon died in the game at the hands of Kratos, it is pretty clear that Ragnarok is the last game in the saga. Moreover, Santa Monica Studios officials have also confirmed it to be the last one in the Norse mythology of the series.
Does Kratos die in God of War Ragnarok?
Kratos does not die at the end of God of War: Ragnarok, even though he was prophesized to die in the game.
The game follows a theme of changing fates and leading the armies of nine realms at the end of the game possibly changing his future too.
In the end, Kratos, along with Freya and Atreus, defeat Thor and Odin, putting an end to the Aesir cruelty all over the nine realms.
Will there be more God of War after Ragnarok?
There will be more God of War games after Ragnarok, but currently, there is no information on any related details of the same.
Both director Eric Williams and producer Cory Barlog have confirmed Ragnarok to be the end. However, they were careful enough to use the wordings “end of the Norse saga” instead of the entire God of War series.
It clearly emphasizes that there are many more mythologies left for the brutal spartan general, Kratos, to explore and many more evil pantheons to eradicate from the face of the earth.
