Windows 10 Setup to Receive More Customization Options!

Microsoft 10 is testing a new form of setup for Windows 10 that will personalize your operating system according to your needs and the best thing? It even has the option of setting up your PC for ‘gaming.’

Essentially, to customize and tailor a PC to the user’s needs, this step is being added in the setup for Windows 10. For example, if you’re starting on a gaming rig, you can select ‘gaming’ when installing Windows 10.

Other than gaming, there are five other categories as well, them being Family, Creativity, Schoolwork, Entertainment, and Business. Each of the categories offers a short description of what your PC will be moulded into.

They are as follows:

  • Gaming: Play and discover games, keep up with new releases.
  • Schoolwork: Take notes, write essays, and collaborate on projects.
  • Family: Connect with the whole family, edit safety settings, and give everyone their own profile on this device.
  • Entertainment: Watch videos, browse web, and connect on social media.
  • Creativity: Bring ideas to life-from novels and presentations to photos and videos.
  • Business: Track expenses, manage customers, and run your business.

Although it is to be noted that Microsoft is not yet 100% sure of whether to add this option or not yet, they are still testing it out on Windows Insider Program.

Microsoft stated that “Based on feedback, we’re exploring adding a page to Windows setup (OOBE) to help better understand how you plan to use your device and aid in customizing your device given your intended usage.”

Also, one thing to keep in mind is that the feature won’t do a whole lot of change on your machine.

It won’t turn your Windows into some cyborg if you choose ‘gaming,’ so don’t go expecting that. But perhaps, something like an increase in CPU and GPU output may be seen through these options.

Regardless, a feature like this could certainly improve the customization options of Windows, and if Microsoft decided to add it eventually, it would be riveting to see the public reception to it!
