Amazon’s MMO New World has been in the news a lot, but very few of those reasons are positive. But it’s a new year, and that could mean the game might be able to finally make the community happy after all the glitches, bugs, and scams they have endured.
The devs seem to have started the new year off on a good note, as they have planned to extend the Winter Convergence event due to a fantastic turnout.
A post by one of the community managers on the New World Forum reads,
Due to the fantastic turnout we’ve seen from this event, we’ve decided to extend it to January 25th! Please note that any unopened presents and unused event tokens will disappear at the end of the event, so make sure that you don’t lose out on any potential gifts.

Additionally, all of the Winter Convergence giveaway items will be available from January 21st, 2022 12:01 AM through January 24th, 2022 11:59 PM. Make sure you grab any items you may have missed out on during this time. You might not see them again!

The Winter convergence event was supposed to end on January 11th, but due to the resounding success and praise Amazon has enjoyed from the event, the team decided to extend it to the 24th.
The event brought several changes to the land of Aeternum, the most notable of them being a wintery makeover of the map with sheets of snow. During the event, players can earn Winter Tokens by completing repeatable tasks for the Yeti – the Winter Wanderer – where they can exchange the tokens for exclusive cosmetics.
Ice Caves have also made an appearance across the map, and they are the reason the map has been layered in snow. Players will also participate in special activities like The Convergence Spirit, which needs you to help decorate each settlement’s Tree of Light for improved daily rewards. Lost Present Recovery tasks players to retrieve presents stolen by the Frigid Folk.
New World residents will also be audience to a showering of Gleamlight meteors from the night sky. Players will be able to collect these remnants and offer them at the Winter Village Holiday Huts for extra Winter Tokens. Seven new quests will be added to the game as part of the event that begins at level 15 and ends at level 60.

New World is an upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) by Amazon Games set to be released on August 31, 2021. The game was previously scheduled to release in May 2020 but was delayed to its current date.
Set in the mid-1600s, players colonize a fictional land known as Aeternum Island, modeled after North and South Americas in the Atlantic Ocean. The game will be using a buy-to-play business model, meaning there will be no monthly subscription fee.
