Xbox Game Pass Users to Have Access to 20 Bethesda Games from Tomorrow

There’s a new reason for gamers to invest in a subscription to Xbox Game Pass.

During the Microsoft + Bethesda Roundtable Discussion, Xbox head Phil Spencer and Bethesda Director Todd Howard announced that 12 more of Bethesda’s most popular games will be coming to Xbox Games Pass as soon as tomorrow.

This will bring up the total number of Bethesda titles on Game Pass up to 20, with 8 others including super hits like Dishonored 2, Fallout 76 and Doom Eternal, already available to play on the service.

Most of these titles were formerly under the ZeniMax Media label and now figure under Bethesda, Id Software, Arkane, and many others. They will be playable on Xbox and PC, and through cloud streaming for Game Pass Ultimate holders. Microsoft also stated that a ‘handful’ of these games will take advantage of Microsoft’s FPS Boost tech which will allow the new Xbox Series consoles to render them at higher frame rates.

Here’s a list of all the Bethesda titles that Game Pass holders will have access to from tomorrow:

  • Dishonored Definitive Edition (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Dishonored 2 (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Doom (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Doom II (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Doom 3 (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Doom 64 (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Doom Eternal (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind (Console and PC)
  • The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion (Console and PC)
  • The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • The Elder Scrolls Online (Cloud and Console)
  • The Evil Within (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Fallout 4 (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Fallout 76 (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Fallout: New Vegas (Console)

  • Rage 2 (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order (Console, PC Cloud)
  • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood (Console, PC and Cloud)
  • Wolfenstein: Youngblood (Console, PC and Cloud)

This is the first confirmed games-related announcement after Microsoft’s recent $7.5 Billion acquisition of Bethesda and it seems plenty more will follow.

During the initial phase of the acquisition, Microsoft hinted that “some new titles in the future” would be exclusive to Xbox and PC. This potentially meant that PlayStation and Switch would get their fair share of Bethesda titles too. To that effect, Phil Spencer, in the roundtable, clarified that the company’s goal has always been to bring great exclusives to Game Pass.

“If you’re an Xbox customer, the thing I want you to know is that this is about delivering great exclusive games for you that ship on platforms where Game Pass exists. That’s our goal, that’s why we’re doing this, that’s the root of this partnership that we’re building.”

This is a very promising development for gamers who hold not just Game Pass but any gaming subscription service. With Microsoft having set their sights on beefing up Game Pass with the best possible titles, the folks at PlayStation Plus could be planning something too. What, and how lucrative it will be, we’ll have to wait and see.
