Ziggurat 2 is finally about to enter its early access stage on October 23rd, promising to bring more of the first game, but better in almost every aspect! The game will stay in early access for 6 to 9 months until its complete release.
Those that played the original Ziggurat will remember what a sheer ball of delight that game is. Combining the elements of high-octane first-person shooting with roguelike elements never felt as satisfying as it did in Ziggurat.
That’s why it is truly justified when developer Milkstone Studios say that it is “Dungeon-Crawling First Person Shooting at its finest!”
I mean, randomly generated levels and a perma-death feature coupled with first-person shooting? It’s almost like a match made in heaven!
Oh, and did I mention this game has evil carrots?
I don’t know about you, but evil carrots? Sign me up!
Coming back to the sequel, it will be more than a simple visual overhaul of the game. The developers have stated that Ziggurat 2 will refine everything that made the first part such an endearing title to the maximum possible limit.
The randomly-generated dungeons will essentially carry a refined sense of verticality and variety, with the rooms being more compact than they were in the first part. To sum it up, each run in Ziggurat 2 promises to be a trip of its own!
Apart from what this game will be like, the developers stated that the game would stay in the early access stage for about 6 to 9 months, during which they will be consistently listening to the players and improving the experience.
When it finally receives a full release, the developers expect the game to have “approximately twice the equipment items” than there are in the game at the moment.
With all that said, give this game a chance. I know for a fact that if roguelike video games are your thing, Ziggurat 2 will certainly not disappoint!
