After Resolving Differences, Terraria Will Launch on Stadia Ultimately

The public spat between Google and Re-Logic’s founder Andrew Spinks led to the dev company axing Terraria’s Stadia port development. However, now it seems that both the companies have overcome their differences to continue the planned production of Terraria on Stadia.

In a forum post, Re-Logic said,

“As you may have noticed, we had a ton of issues to kick off the year stemming from the locking-down of Redigit’s entire Google account in early January,”

“After a month of pushing (and with the immense support of our fans), Google finally reached out and was able to provide a lot of transparency around the situation and to restore access to all of our accounts.”

The post further read,

“Due to the hard work the Stadia team has put in – as well as our partners at 505 Games – we have decided that we will allow the upcoming launch Terraria on Google Stadia to proceed. The Terraria Stadia build is based on the DR Studios 1.4.0.5 (latest) build, and is currently at Google for certification review.”

Basically, both companies said it’s all in the past to their confrontation. Then joined hands to ensure that the action-adventure sandbox game gets a Stadia release.

What led to this very public duel was that Andrew Spinks’ Google accounts were wrongly suspended for three weeks. This basically means no access to Google Play app library, Google Drive, YouTube account, and a 15-year old Gmail address.

To vent out his frustration, Spinks took to Twitter and said,

“My account has now been disabled for over 3 weeks. I still have no idea why, and after using every resource I have to get this resolved you have done nothing but given me the runaround,”

“I absolutely have not done anything to violate your terms of service, so I can take this no other way than you deciding to burn this bridge. Consider it burned. Terraria for Google Stadia is canceled. My company will no longer support any of your platforms moving forward.”

Now that the differences have been kicked out of the room, Terraria’s port on Stadia is going as planned. Although, no release date has been revealed yet.
