AMD Genoa-X ES CPU With 96 Zen4 Cores & 1152 MB 3D V-Cache Listed

It seems like AMD’s EPYC Genoa-X server processors with 3D V-Cache have been leaked and listed. Genoa-X will feature TSMC’s 5nm process nodes, and it’s the follow up to AMD’s previous EPYC Milan-X Chips.

An alleged engineering sample of the AMD EPYC 9684X Genoa-X CPU has been spotted at Chinese third-party seller, Goofish. This chip was earlier confirmed in a leak as a Zen4 server part with 96 cores, 192 threads, and 1152 MB of L3 cache. The chip is being sold for $1308.

The pictures reportedly reveal that the EPYC 9684X will be a part of the EPYC 9004-Series lineup (110.10 SP5). The third-party seller did mention that it is a fully functioning chip, but you can’t really find out if that’s true unless you’re ready to spend $1300 and test it on a proper SP5 platform.

Genoa-X Chips Coming Later This Year

The main attraction of these Genoa-X chips is the addition of the 3D V-Cache which will allow these processors to accelerate a large variety of workloads. Interestingly, AMD hasn’t really responded to this listing or taken it down yet but since the seller posted the QR Code, they could track down who received the engineering sample.

The Genoa-X is a successor to Milan-X (Zen3), and it is slated to release later this year. AMD hasn’t mentioned any specific release date for the chip as of now. But the alleged listing does imply that a release is not that far away considering Goofish claims that the chip is working.
