Update for God Of War PC Brings Fixes for Atreus Bug and Others

It’s been two weeks since the launch of God of War on PC, and the 2018 game has been the talk of the platform’s community ever since. There was little doubt that the game would not do well on PC, but it has managed to go above and beyond the experience, it provided on consoles.

Santa Monica and Jetpack Interactive are still ironing out some minor issues that keep popping up, and the latest update fixes on players have been reporting for the second main character of the game – Atreus.

Patch update 1.0.4 is now live and is bringing a couple of tweaks to the game. God of War on PC has several advantages over the console version with stunning 4K resolution, uncapped framerates, and a single-shot perspective. But these additions do result in some bugs and inconsistencies that require patches to fix.

One of the big fixes with 1.0.4 addresses the issue where Atreus would become unresponsive. Restarting from a checkpoint or recent save should rectify the problem if that happens now.

Aside from this, there are some common bug fixes such as the rare graphics river crash, CRAM detection issues on the Intel XE platform, ultrawide monitor bugs that automatically set to windowed mode when resetting displays, control functionality fixes, and so on.

A DLSS Sharpening Slider has also been included with this update, helping to make an already graphically fantastic game even better.

Steam is also tracking and working on fixes for other bugs on the PC. This includes where remapping Axe Recall causes Triangle to server as a command prompt, performance drops with AMD GPUs, negative mouse acceleration, and more.

Players will need to make sure they restart Steam to get the update.

While PC players are finally enjoying the 2018 God of War, others are eager for the sequel to the game, God of War Ragnarok, which is scheduled for launch sometime this year. We don’t have a specific date yet, but we can expect Sony to announce the same with a State of Play event.
