Possible Ban from Full Game for Leaking Battlefield 2042 Technical Test Info

Battlefield 2042 is easily one of the biggest games releasing this year and will also be a technological leap with its massive lobby and maps. The game is just a few months from release, and testing periods have started to become available, kicking off with a closed technical test that took place over the weekend.

It seems EA is exceptionally dedicated to protecting what was shown, as they have issued a warning to anyone planning to leak info from the test.

Spotted by PCGamesN, EA Lead Community Manager Adam Freeman had shared a post on Twitter before the technical test was opened.

The post reminded players that they had signed an NDA to participate in the test, and breaking it could have consequences for the leaker. They risk losing access to future EA technical tests, the Battlefield 2042 beta, and perhaps even the full game.

Freeman reminded players that the NDA included all types of content, including videos, screenshots, or anything else that players could leak. As EA bears the right to issue copyright complaints, streamers and content creators leaking information will also face the consequences.

Such a complaint can result in a copyright strike to the channel, which can be seriously damaging to creators.

Freeman then said that EA has already taken action against certain registrants who were denied access to the technical test due to leaking Battlefield 2042 details early. It seems like EA is trying to play its cards very close to its chest for now.

But there are other beta periods lined up for the game between now and its launch. This includes an open beta for anyone who wants to have a first go at Battlefield 2042.

Getting into an EA technical test can take quite a bit of luck, so it’s risky to release any content online if they want to keep their place in current and future technical tests. Simply sharing an account with a friend could have serious repercussions, so it’s not surprising that EA is taking any legitimate leaks so seriously.

If you cannot try your hand during any of the upcoming tests, you won’t have to wait long as the full game is slated for an October release.

About Battlefield 2042

Battlefield 2042 is the seventeenth installment in the Battlefield series developed by DICE and published by Electronic Arts. The game is a first-person online multiplayer shooting title. This installment of Battlefield will not feature a single-player campaign mode.

The year is 2042 and the world is in ruins. Natural disasters run rampant, ocean levels have risen, the world economy has collapsed, and the US and Russia are at war. You step into the shoes of a non-patriated soldier – a soldier without a side. The games’ story will be revealed through episodic additions, allowing players to create a future for themselves and other non-pats in a world on the brink of destruction.
