The latest free DLC for Creative Assembly’s Total War: Warhammer 2 is set to add a new lord to the dark elf faction: Beastlord Rakarth of Karond Kar, a legendary Beastmaster of the Old World. The monster hunter will be available from March 18th via Total War Access.
According to this Total War forum, Rakarth is a heavily armoured Dark Elf who specialises in slaying large monsters and enhancing his own beasts. He holds the Beast Armor Of Karond Kar which grants his defences passive bonuses when he is near enemy monsters.
Despite all his armor, he is known for being a quick and agile fighter which makes him a serious threat to the High Elves.
Since he is a monster hunter, it is natural that he has a varied set of mount options which include the Scourgerunner Chariot, a Manticore, and Bracchus, his very own Black Dragon. Additionally, Rakarth also wields the Whip of Agony, one strike of which temporarily strips enemy monsters of their ability to cause Fear and Terror. This also means that said monsters will be vulnerable to the same stats.
Sega Europe recently announced on Twitter that players could get their hands on 12 free Warhammer games for their Steam accounts. So if you’re looking to dive in, this might be a good taster to ready your strategy game palette.
And a good taste of Total War might just be what the doctor ordered; last month, Creative Assembly dropped the trailer for Total Warhammer III. The game will conclude the Total War trilogy and is slated to drop later this year.
